Being Configured For Another Country
Many don’t realise how big the struggle can be
To be able to adopt and adapt to another language and way of life
Moving away from home to a culture that rejects and disregards all that you loved dearly
The voices and sounds that make you who you are as a human being
Sights of family and friends who have been in your life from childhood
From a carefree spirited life to a mean distant existence of loneliness
Where closeness and oneness of the togetherness of people is absent
Replaced by everything and anything that is empty and cruel
Change devouring in...

A Friend In Need
In the middle of the city a guy thought it would be a great idea to go and visit a friend
So he went to see him in his office where he was counselling his patients as a psychologist
Now the man was happy to see him and they had some friendly chatter in the office
However when the guy who was visiting wanted to leave
The suggestion was made by the friend to visit his place
While there he changed and picked up bits and pieces of this, that and the other
Later that afternoon they were off to a place in town where they met a group of male friends
All were...

The Approach
The boy stood looking upon the waves in the sea standing nearby the sand at the beach
When a man stood next to him and asked him what he was doing
He looked at the man and then told him he was thinking of taking a swim
Without noticing or suspecting anything untoward the boy accepted this man's invitation
Which turned out to be an act of subterfuge hiding his true motivations
This man took the boy to his hotel room or rented apartment
They spoke for a while after he had offered him some orange juice
Sooner rather than later they were both in a bathtub...

Life these days
Seems to be turning
This generation into one of happy pictures and sad lives
Perfectly curated moments
Covering up the sentient bizarre eruption
As reality is blurred in the vomit hidden behind disgusting comments
Never allowing the truth to ever resurface
Ascending in elevation of fleeting honour
More commercial than stock being floated in the markets
Information being the most accessible than it has ever been in the history of the world
Still manages to leave...

The Truth is I am more disabled than him
When the world hears the name Mak Manaka
His work speaks for itself
When the world hears the name Simphiwe Mhlongo
There is silence in the room
Nobody knows who he is
Sometimes his own mother forgets that he’s even around
As she hears those footsteps she fears an unwelcome intruder

Who came to this country before the first immigrants
Those already living in this land before it became for the free and brave
If it wasn't all divided as it is now
There was a time when it was truly united as one
People moving around freely in all of their natural home
No borders to restrict and prevent those coming in and going out
Food for everyone in the earth and on the trees
When money was no object whatsoever because it didn't exist
Weapons were for hunting not for war
No massacres to forcefully conquer and destroy the only primogenitors of...

TRUE BLUE
Waking up everyday
Wearing the uniform
To serve and protect
Reporting for duty
Investigating complaints, crimes and other incidents to keep the communities safe
However not everybody with a badge treats it with the honour it truly deserves
Those criminals in the force destroy the work of those good few who are still left
To the point where people look at them with mistrust
Never able to speak out even when in distress
Letting all sort of things slide

Delight found in the ugliest of places
Dead bodies evidence of crimes committed
Shocking reality existing in the desecrated world
Telling an ongoing story
Fortified and solidified into normal existence
Turning sobriety into insanity
Tales no longer to be told by the dead
A tool powerful in starting and ending wars throughout centuries
Swallowing the bitter pill of truth sobering minds
Table discussions planning demise
Seated now relishing blood of a tasteless victory
Departing to leave no peace behind

Let me swim in the pool of sweet succulent perversions
Warm and comfortable with a welcoming pungent scent
Indecent enough for passersby to look away
Unlike the random victory of a lucky lottery
This unprovoked disappointment from observing strangers
Feels like a well deserved validation
As opposed to unwarranted condemnation
Honoured for the recognition of being at the forefront of such displeasure
Willing to extend another open invitation for the upcoming events
Humbled and grateful for the loyal support
Infuriated by triumphant opportune...

So How Does It Feel
Knowing that your burden was put on someone
By deciding their fate without letting them be
Denying her the opportunity to raise her concern
The injustice of her moving on from you
Now considered a crime by you
Deserving an execution in the presence of her daughter
Leaving her to suffer that memory for a lifetime
Those last moments with her mother as she frantically called her elder sister
Forced to return back home on her way to start work in another city
You were supposed to love their mother
Not hate her because she had left you
