The scandal of church

The hypocrisy in the sanctified sacred walls of shame
Where secrets are kept for centuries to preserve a semblance of normality
Buried beneath in the ancient crypts deep in death those sins lies lay
Practised perfectly is the art of eluding with delusions of piety
While embraced by the priceless customized fisherman's ring
Filling pews with thousands of faithful worshippers in churches
Globally numbering more than two billion
The televangelists who have kept coffers full with offerings
Live in mansions in millionaire celebrity neighbourhoods
While their flocks lack basic necessities the world possesses in abundance
Fortunes favouring only those in close proximity to power
Fairness is an ideal used to lure the naive
In fact and truth the outcome is always predetermined
The hunger for power not only roams at play among those who pray
Its tentacles stretch out far beyond to places where even fewer can reach
