POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
"I will not die, it's the world that will end." - Unknown
The Motion
The dark before the light
The wind before the rain
The slip before the fall
The silence before the scare
The dare before the kill
The face before the kiss
The leap before the faith
The scream before the birth
The shock before the tears
The start before the end
In the middle we could begin.
The wind before the rain
The slip before the fall
The silence before the scare
The dare before the kill
The face before the kiss
The leap before the faith
The scream before the birth
The shock before the tears
The start before the end
In the middle we could begin.

Sanitary Pads Should Be Free
A monthly uninvited pest which bores a whole on the veins to make them be a carrier of the departed. A mourning with the eulogy cussing the dead due to the sacrifice it made you take; unforgiving pain, an anemic weakness, the fear of the corpse being displayed for everyone to see and if it stains your cloth, it doesn't want to leave, as you use soap after soap to let the color disappear. Everyone is your enemy before the deceased is declared and it won't stop there as it continues on through the bloody days. But when the Shiva has come to a close, your body and mind starts restoring it self....

Love conquers all I hear. LOVE. It is a combination of abstract and untouchable energy that is emitted with in us when things happen in the physical world. A Person and frequency help shape it. Most times it won't be birthed but in those rare moments with a concrete core, it emerges leaving it's host aghast. I love yous exchanged once the green light is given inside. Feels you up with a concoction of chemicals.
That land had been my playground once up on a time. But after I buried you my love, it has been a graveyard. No wind passes, no sun sets. The lake has bubbles coming from...

"Perks" of being a Doctor: Part 3 - After Midnight
Five people are waiting for the radiologist to finish taking the chest x-ray of a patient who was revived back to life.
Its past midnight as I take over my shift at the ED. There are a handful of patients with their loved ones on their side, a couple of nurses and other doctors. Its a slow and quiet night as I sat behind a desk which is next to my patients. Then suddenly, an irate scream of an attendant pierced through the silence which surrounded the emergency hall. She was holding her husband as he was gasping for air and not responding. We rushed to check his heart beat but...

The Pyramid Scheme on Life
It feels like we are left behind don't we? Us young adults. As time went by, it shoved us to the side while putting other riders on its line. Not young but not an adult yet. We ricochet between the truth that is stamped on our age and the reality that shows us the plunging fact of our fate. We are angry, disappointed, bewilderment settled on our mental state with the fear of not getting the life we were promised. Blame the advertisements, blame the school system, blame the government. We had hopes, a dream to conquer our goals. Time was on our side, the greatest illusion one can be tricked...

Mistakes he can't take back
The sweet smell of nicotine lingers on my finger
As the doctor tells me I have cancer
In disbelief I sat silent not wanting to ask what she just said
Some part of me knew this day would come
with the sign shouting smoking kills
The white air going in as I inhale
But mostly I thought I would doge the bullet
Not a lot I feel, the circle between my fingers
But it still got me, they have spread like stars
Reason for not stopping besides being addicted
Being ignorant that I, won't get sick.

I don't like myself right now
I thought I was better
Immersed in fatigue
Gravity my leash
Eye lids being pulled up
Trying to stay, as my first day
I want, I need my piece
to be at peace.

Purple Bruises
When the walls start to crack, she covers them with memories. With it, appears the pain once buried telling her you don't want to live through it again. But she hesitates when the light hits her face with warmth that sipped in to see the stranger hiding. Standing with her eyes closed, letting out the happiness which once bloomed from its cage, to feel the disarray of butterflies morphing into immortals. The hope never dies once the wall dissolves by the diluting closeness that mix between her and the light.
But darkness she deems fit for now, putting it up as a flag to remind the mind...

"Perks" of being a Doctor: Part 2
We treat them but in return they kill us a little inside. How can we survive if this is the only option to their cure.
Most decompress with distractions whether they are good or bad to their health and some ending their time here on earth.
I saw a 2 year old trauma patient who came unconscious with his head swollen at the back of his neck and his eyes swollen too. He was not breathing. My friend and I were trying to do a failing CPR we knew it was failing but we didn't know what else to do. We contacted a GP and then surgical residents came but they couldn't do...

Call me Oliver
Cause I wanted you to know." He repeated those words too many times till they locked eye to eye. He knows he won't go anywhere physically and emotionally for as long as he lived. He was in love and that love never died, it just destroyed him bit by bit by making him feel the sweetness with every death. He is bound forever by the spell of love.

Ingrained
After you watch a movie like Okja, the feelings that is going through your body is to take care of animals. Especially the ones who are being eaten by humans. Caring means not eating them and that realization only lasts until it fades in a couple of days with craving of meat once more. What does that say about us? Most of us? As some are not meat lovers. Are we programmed to not adjust that it's too late to let the better way into our stomach? Or are we just psychopaths? I think both can be true in which we adapted for so long that it looks only natural for there to be slaughter houses with...

Hope
What a life when trapped inside the mind
But a choice I have on the way I paint it
Gray doesn't seem like the right fit
When my surrounding commit
Better, different, brighter color
Yellow will shine inside my mind
Aware to what I am and I hope to become
Keeps me stroking the brush on my gray canvas.
This life, all I have known since birth
challenges me to break, shade a tear
At times it wins but I see clear
No out without in, no sun without dark
No scars without sin, I stay awake in the...
