The Proof is in the Pudding*
US politicians are pitching a new dream they make sound so inviting
but, none of them will to give us a warranty for it in writing
We all want to be happy, safe and free
but, that does not come with a money back guarantee
Can it be returned, if with it we are not completely excited
or if it goes badly are they hoping we will be too tried to fight it
The old folks taught me back in the day
“The proof is in the pudding”, they would say

More attention must be placed on Haiti, Darfur and the Congo
About this MSM should be beating their drums but won't even beat a bongo
We need more news about these nightmare scenarios
In our Newspapers, Magazines and on TV's and Stereo's
Starvation, Genocide, Sex Trafficking and Rape
These issues need to spotlighted on live but we can't even get it on video tape
On these stories they pass on by us
and continue playing their games of-Ethnic Bias

Negative Programing
The music that one hears
imitates the movement of the spheres
It moves us emotionally, intellectually and sexually
It replays in our minds perpetually
Lyrics to songs should be poetic and prophetic
not idiotic, psychotic or demonic
If music is the soundtrack to human life?
why on each other are we using a gun or a knife?
Disharmony is not a part of the grand design
set in motion on this planet by the divine
Discordance comes from an outside source
and allows evil on this earth to run its course

Deja Vu
It appears that the some ghosts of 1968
have come back to procreate
KKK marches, Campus unrest, millions in the streets in protests
it all brings back old memories I must confess
Another close American Pres. election where the Neo Fascist candidate won
leaves me with a feeling like a bitter Chicago winter with weeks with no sun

but, for me it is all Deja Vu

Final Battle*
Final Battle*
I have worn many hats and played many parts
and made numerous costume changes in my various roles
Sadly, first hand one day I will know "for whom the bell tolls"
until then I will cherish the good in a bad day if I have any smarts
In this lifetime, I have learn a few things
like the fact all 7 billion of us are flawed human beings
And when my back is against the wall
my best move is to drop my knees and pray to stand tall
that the written words of fools and sages
both begin on...

Trump's speeches are half Hitler and the other half Mussolini
his mind is as soft as over cooked linguine
His brain is working at less than 2/3rds
and at every campaign stop he slurs his words
He espouses conspiracy theories about things that are untoward
this poor man belongs on a psych ward
DJT is mentally ill
and can't afford to pay his 464 million dollar bill
The MSM is dodging this issue still
and unbiased journalism is now a lost skill
Four more years of Trump and American Democracy is through ...

A Is For Anxiety
Thinking about my Sports Teams Politics and my personal life
is a never ending carnival of strife
One minute I am playing Captain Save a Hoe
next worrying about my Instacart order and if in my bank acct I have enough dough
Will it rain sleet and snow
and bc of the writers strike where the hell is my favorite tv show.
My sleeping pattern has no rhythm or rhyme
and will Trump ever be convicted of a criminal crime
The forms of my mental discontent come in a variety
I guess that is why Big Bird taught me that-A Is For Anxiety ...

People overlook what is right under their nose
like when the Emperor didn't have on any clothes
It took a kid to state a simple fact
While others whispered but, failed to act.
They were being blindly obedient to authority
Sadly, in this country that's the majority
"When you got nothing, you got nothing to lose"
and standing up for my people is the way I choose
The one thing I know is true
The system is out to screw me and you
While the powers that be dream of a new evil and how to fund it

I will fight even when the opponent is my own country
Like Ernie Banks when he joined his Northside club
I will show the courage that earned him the name "Mr. Cub"
Like the great Hannibal
I will defeat my adversaries when their thinking is dull
Like the warriors of Sekhmet, when I make my last stand
I will do so with my self-respect fully in hand
