Seductress
I can't stop
This seductress is a part of me
A companion who's always there
Never failing to lift my spirits
And when she leaves...
The sadness returns
Constant longing
Forever craving
The company of my old friend
Who understands me like no other
My soul mate
My nemesis
Slowly dissolving me
Into her destructive fantasy
This seductress is a part of me

Plastic smile
On a plastic face
No one can tell
But you know it's fake
Enveloped by covers
No one will see
This waste of space
I have come to be
No more fun
No more games
No more lies
No more pain
I'll just close my eyes
And make you all go away

Desperation, depression
Fear of loss
Signs of aggression
Looking for answers
But I'm lost in a maze
Moments of clarity
In the midst of the haze
Question myself?
Medication?
Religious saturation?
Alive on the outside
Dead within
I need an asylum

With no raft
Nobody stop me

I've locked the door
And thrown away the key
Don't bother trying

Drink your memory back
Every night I come home
To an empty silent house
No calls on the phone
No reason to go out
Light a candle, watch it burn
Pour a drink in a dirty glass
Try to drink away the hurt
And bring your memory back
Well I lost you long ago
And cannot get you back
Now the only relief I know

Rambled down many streets
Casting shadows with my feet
Chased the rabbit down the hole
Looking for my pot of gold
Lost myself along the way
Tripped myself through night and day
If you're looking for me
Don't look far
I'm still beneath the same ole stars
You'll find me on the dark side of town
