The sack of Rome
It was not built in a day
However it fell in a night
Burned in a display
To show off their might
Through years of internal destruction
Ita walls fell onto the soil
Years of political corruption
Had left Rome in turmoil
If there was something to learn
From a once proud city, burned to ash
Its showing too little concern
Will only cause a gash
Dont over reach
And dont fall victim to scandals
Or it's your wall they will breach
Those damn vandals

They starved us
So we refused to eat
They beat us bloody
So we became immune to pain
They scolded us
So we ignored their cries
They showed us hell
So we took our vision as well
They became mad
So we became patient
They tried to break us

Are you brushing your hair?
Are you painting your face?
With whom are you trying to compare?
Underneath that disguise I cannot find your trace
Are you trying to make yourself feel good?
Did someone say that you are not beautiful?
Perhaps you misunderstood
With this disguise that you don it's your true beauty you muffle
Beauty is not solely what is seen
It's about the person you are
It lies somewhere beneath the skin

Be the person you are in your heart
For that is far more beautiful

I would be lying if I claimed you were not still on my mind
It was through your love that my vision was rendered blind
My heart imprisoned

Holding the pain
Everyone smiles
Just as everyone cries
Days filled with sorrow
Met with days filled by joy
What makes us cry?
What forces us to laugh?
When we cry why do we remain down?
Long after the fact we retain our frown
Why when we laugh does it only last for a while?
Oh how easily we favor pain for a smile
Does laughter hurt more than tears?
Is that why we are usually left with a frown?
Often letting our smiles turn upsidown
When we are in pain
What is it we gain?
Surely it must be something
Otherwise our sorrow would be...
