Xmas Glee
The cold bites down
Christmas wishes spoken
written on card
A time to give
A time to share
Childrens excitement filling the air
The day has arrived all to soon
The turkey defrosted to eat at noon
Presents unwrapped with shouts and laughter
pictures taken to look at after
The day goes by all to quick
Telling the children dont eat to much
you'll end up sick..
The evening arrives, kids of to bed
New books opened, New books read
A cuddle on the sofa, new nightgown
A fire flickers it's warmth around
All...

OBSERVATIONAL POEM

Pretty Vacant
She asked the price though she knew all to well
A starting point for our doorstep conversations
That would go on for longer than they should
This time was different
I could tell instantly having seen the signs before in others
The pause in asking how much
The vacant look she tried to cover up with that beautiful smile of forty odd years
"A cheque is fine if you hav'nt the cash"
It was'nt fine I despise cheques, But I said it all the same, Cursing to myself as now a trip to the bank was on the cards
She smiled "oh yes a cheque...

Comfort
A little closer to the fire
It's ok to feel the warmth
Like the comfort blanket we carry
Let it cover over and protect us from our fears
No harm would befall one so beautiful
A little closer would pose no danger
But, watch your step
no leap of faith required, Jumping ahead, no loaded gun
Keep a space you're comfortable with
A small step would be a good thing but not needed
A good thing we already give praise for
we swim already in this devine moment
one I could bottle and preserve
to open in times needed
I hear you calling

Imagining The Imagination
The scene moves me in swaths of light swirls
Pinging my senses from slumber
To see once more you stretched out
alone on those quite nights
that have become all to frequent
Your desires
Hopes
and fears
Manifested within
Now on display
The slow caress of gentle movements
willing your hand to become mine
This past journey we have travelled
many times
The slow walk to take it all in
You mind plays the part willingly
The cauldron of pleasure awaiting Soft hands to touch like the first time
Played...

Shroud
That demon at your side
The one that helps you dig it over
Should have been laid out years ago
The body blow
The knockout
Counting to ten
You should have walked far away
I laid mine to rest many years ago
so distant I now no longer hear it's sordid cry
Or care to remember times and places I forgot
It's all misty haze now to me
It's hold has slipped it's coil from around my neck
Rather than succumb to flashback video nastiness
I can't take on your pain
I'm not here to create more
Be with the knowledge that...

Racing
My alliance to dwell within
The Crabtree to heal and evolve
Skirt around the edges
Running rings and Skimming stones
Be as morbid as you desire
Be the dark
The spark
The flame
The fire
Lighten up the lines
Stop trying to fall
I know what's right
Nothings transpired or changed
I'd tap you on you're behind if you were in my sight
I did'nt explain
I did'nt give a reason
It never involved you
But your racing mind is creating a novel
I will not buy it
Now make an alliance and laugh away your woes

Small
We sat down and said our prayer together
I noticed how small his feet were first
Studying him as he spoke, I guessed about 36 I wasn't wrong
His hands also small, Well manicured hands of someone who has the taste for the unemployment line
Well that's how it should have been, But this guy had worked for his gold coin
A fighter he was
He spoke calmly and matter of fact
We all knew why we were here, This wasn't a place to impress
For together we were equal
Of how he couldn't sleep on a friday night if they were playing on the saturday
Of how he felt...
