The Perfect Storm
Without warning, her mind kicks into overdrive
her subconscious transformed
oozing irrational thoughts
Consumed by the impending storm
Perceptions, become truth.
Her fear flashes as lightning strikes,
heightening her emotions
Her friend's loyalty she questions
Booming thunder reverberates
muffling her rational voice.
Zealous in her opinion
She rains down her convictions
Adrenalin accelerates her beating heart.
Hatches secured prepared to fight
Treated no better than a stranger
Disrespected is...

9th Birthday Tribute
Happy birthday baby boy
You should have turned nine today
While our lives continue to grow and change
your birth feels like only yesterday
Would the tooth fairy have visited
When you lost a tooth
I'm guessing probably not
As mum and dad believe in telling the truth
Would you have been a gamer?
Asking for the latest console
By now you'd understand
room cleaning equals money, giving you control
Physical and emotional milestones
aplenty this year
Spending time away from mum and dad ...

The cup of your worth,
just an empty space.
Lacks trust and understanding
Do you hang your head in disgrace?
A no hoper
A bully
A cheater
A fake
You're unkind,
spiteful
You blame
Where is your shame?
Stalking the innocent
Shadowing them in darkness
Extremely self obsessed
I doubt it'll ever be addressed
The words you speak
Show no mercy,
and are cruel
I'd describe you as evil
Projecting your fury
Emptying your trash ...

Mental games
Without shame
Projection
Manipulation
Intimidation
Humiliation
Once passionate, resilient and full of life
She now stands on the cliff ledge
Gazing down the vertical drop
Her demons taunt, nonstop
Shame
Guilt
Disconnection
Mental Exhausted
Unwitting succumbing,
buckling under pressure
surrendering
the rocky edge crumbling
Confused
Angry
Stolen identity
Warped reality
The inner child...

Angel Baby
Following your birth
You survived three shorts days on earth
Not long enough to work or play,
nor celebrate your first birthday
Nine months safe in mums tum
The ultrasound difficult to fathom
Doctor’s held little hope of your survival
Your mum and dad could only wait!
A special gift from above,
long-awaited and very much loved
Born perfect, ten fingers and toes
Inheriting your mother’s nose
With odds stacked against you from the start,
developing complexities with your heart
Specialists flew you...

Little Piece of Paradise
Home wasn't always
behind lock and key.
White Coat claims to be in charge
And he thinks I'M crazy.
Caged by sterile white walls
The Imperfections, my friends
Visiting when darkness falls
They're real, not pretend!
A dirty glass square
Framed in solid wood
Thick iron bars installed
to impair the outside view
Gazing past the iron
into the outside world
"my little piece of paradise"
infiltrates my mind
A rusted iron fence,...
behind lock and key.

Have you a gauge on your cup
of self worth
Do you realize it's as dry
as desert earth
Have you any idea how to refill
your own cup
Or would you rather drain hers
for yourself, your not enough
Where is your mindfulness
or have you no mind at all
Your unwillingness to better yourself
makes her skin crawl
Do you feel disgrace
when you demand a drink
Stomping when she answers
"take anymore and we will both sink"
Shame on you for preventing
her replenishment of liquid gold ...
