POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
And the Wind Told Me
Dusty lavender paints the sky.
Trees make their dark scores against the heavens.
My feet are cold and the deck is wet.
But the air is almost warm, with a slight breeze.
This Indian summer will be gone by morning.
The wind tells me so.
This friendly zephyr whispers to me.
Telling me to stop silly shivers,
Singing sweet nothings in my hair
"I can't stay with you." He says
As his soft palm floats over my shoulders.
I close my eyes and plead with the wind.
"Keep me sane though this hard winter.
When clouds...

Writers Block
Gah, how of hate the feeling of not being able to write!
Anything good, anyway.
Thoughts and feelings, pent up in my head
But my hand rebels and holds them in.
Let them out! Write them down! I cry
But the words flitter out of my reach.
Like birds in a cage,
Fish in a tank.
Around and around they fly
Swimming away just as I'm closing in
It's a terrible feeling, Writer's Block is.
Unable to do what you love,
What you need,
What keeps you sane!
Too many thoughts locked in my brain and my heart
With no means...

Winter Frost
A thin layer of frost covers my window
Making everything sparkle in the sun.
Trees are bare, left widowed
The winter frost has already won.
I'm a Summer girl, myself.
Built for warmth and green.
Truly more of a forest elf,
Than that of a human being.
But even I can appreciate the way
The woods move with a graceful winter breeze
How everything sways, but everything stays,
The air swirling and spiraling with ease.
Beauty even in the cold,
You simply have to smile
All life is put on hold.
Don't worry, it's only for a...

School for Mediocrity
Perfectly placed bricks
In a perfectly sized wall
Shaped so to the front
All attention is called.
Teachers drone
And students moan
Bewailing the time 'til they can flee.
Wishing, not for once, that school was easy.
For those that it is,
School is horrific
And each boring lesson
Monotonous hours kept
Doing absolutely nothing except
Things they certainly already know
Taught to them purely for show.
Not challenged in the least
Not helped to achieve their dreams ...

Red Eyes, Red Lips, Red Tears
Swallowing, engulfing blackness.
Holding her, cold hands crawling over her skin,
Through her head, in her mind.
Harsh and dead, invading and violating.
She hurt all over.
The darkness was suffocating her.
Her body was filled with pain.
She was losing her grip,
Fading... Surrendering....
Her eyes jerked open.
Lungs pulled in great heaves of air.
Everything was cold and damp with pain.
It was still in her.
Frantically, she cried out.
But no one came.
She was alone.
With only her head and it's agony.
She was...

Humiliation
In the Shadows of Humiliation children crouch.
They fidget and shake. They shrink to nothingness.
The villain thinks he grows. But he falls as well,
In a shadow of his own creation.
The children's strength leaves them,
Joining the shadow shrouding the man.
Naked and exposed, they watch as the shadow he built crushes him.
Pressing in on him until all he knows is himself and his false power.
It grows and pulses, lingering devotion still attached
To the whispers of humans from which it was born.
The children take all they can, until it...

Imperfect Passion
Passion isn't Perfect.
Its not clean, or orderly, or flawless.
It's Raw and Real and Beautiful!
I do everything in my life
with imperfect passion.
And it works for me,
regardless of what you think!
So don't tell me I can't string beads in my hair.
They're meaningful and expressive.
Don't tell me my poems don't rhyme.
If the right words rhymed, I would've used them.
Don't tell me my penmanship is sloppy.
I'm too busy writing for tomorrow to care.
And don't you dare tell me to quiet down and blend...

A Pirate's Life
Born to be a Pirate, I was!
Born for adventure and peril!
A shrewd mind and a swift ship be my tools
As I make my fortune,
at the misfortune of others.
Hard and cruel, we may seem,
To those who don't understand.
But I don't aim my cannons simply to destroy.
I don't wield my sword simply to kill.
Yes, it's true we are a crude people.
Crude, but mighty proud to be!
And that's why we fight
For what we figure is worth fighting for!
We do what we love,
Because be love it.
Danger and thrills...
Born for adventure and peril!

I Can Already Tell
I can already tell
It's gonna be one of those days
Where you gt knocked down
And you gotta fight your way back
My whole life
Has just been one of those days
You'd think I'd give up
But I haven't just yet
But. What. Scares. Me.
Is that I think I think I might be
Real close
To giving up
And giving in
And pissin off
All my friends
Who've helped me through
This hard time
Without once
Wonderin' why
They bother with me
The one girl who sees
Everything Differently
It's gonna be one of those days

Ninja prologue
I spun around, fast and deadly, my blades slicing through the man that once stood behind me. I heard another assailant fall to my left and sensed Asher at my side a second later.
"I've got three so far. I hear two for you. How many more do you think there are?" I asked, pitching my voice low so only he'd hear.
"Does it matter? We can take whoever comes at us!" Asher said confidently, not bothering to whisper.
"Shut up!" I hissed, slapping him on the chest. "Dont get cocky, stay on your toes." He sighed and mumbled...

I Need Extraordinary
The pull for extraordinary that restlessly keeps me restless.
That need to do, see, experience, explore, be
Let's me no I would never be content with content.
I crave Adventure! Excitement! A challenge! A journey!
To travel to where the whole world sits at my feet
To fight against what my body says I can't do,
To rise to where i've never been before
To what i've never been before.
Scrambling for handholds,
But rocks turn to powder under my touch.
My feet slip and I think I may fall
But a smile is pulled to my lips
Of what matter is a fall?!...

Searching
Searching for something that doesn't have a name
But you know it in your dreams
Searching for a place you've never been
But you know it holds your future
Searching for someone you've never met
But you know them in your heart
Searching to understand what you cant explain
But you already know the answer to
Searching for something that's more
But is already a part of you
But you know it in your dreams
Searching for a place you've never been
But you know it holds your future
Searching for someone you've never met
But you know them in your heart
Searching to understand what you cant explain
But you already know the answer to
Searching for something that's more
