LOVE POEM

Forever Love
It’s a morning love,
Stale smile breath,
Crinkled eyes,
Sleep disturbed dark circles
And alarm grumbles.
It’s a working love,
One with no make-up,
Messy hair and sweat stained clothes,
Dirty skin
And small rumbles.
Just wrap me up in your forever arms,
let the groundhog slip away;
I don’t even have to stay here long
Just wrap me up in your forever arms,
And let responsibility slide away.
It’s a domestic love,
The laundry sounds,
Kitchen plate chatter.
Odours of salivating meal tastes ...

Strength To Finish
You write the simplest of thoughts
letting me know you’re there,
always when I need them most
the warmest blanket of care.
My dreams are full of insecurity
I wake emotionally undone to your inquire,
All I wish is freedom’s light
and a new ferocity to my fire.
Please think of me strong
in mind, vessel and soul,
I’m doing what I believe is right
with a minimal crippling toll.
The simple truth my love is;
You’ve not saved me from this languish,
I’m doing it myself...
You’re my every strength to finish.
letting me know you’re there,
always when I need them most

If I could...
If I could take all of the stars
From all of the galaxies
And place them together,
They wouldn’t compare
To the light you’ve placed
Inside my soul...
If I could speak every ‘love you’
In a myriad of tongues
From all of the beautiful sounds
That form the words perfectly,
It wouldn’t compare to how it sounds
When you say it...
If I could touch you forever
And never let you go,
To keep the warmth from your skin
On my fingertips safe from expiry,
I would give everything to keep you
If I could...

Guard
This guard has become dreary
Defending her castle from shadows
Spineless, soul-less shadows
Creeping in the night
Through blue glowing portals
Invoking shared experiences
And delighted memories
Scapegoated to implant their talons
Into the mind’s velvet room,
Mocking whom?
These desperate ghouls
And rabid wolf bitches
Think that she’s unaware...
Her orders are to stand resolute,
Her King showing more diplomacy.
Armoured up, itching to be done with
Knowing this is not the end of it
Come hither,...

You love me like fire
You love me like fire
I can feel the heat you light me with,
cheeky pokes for a brighter burn
the tickles and kisses from the flames;
Attention you breathe into me
making my glow luminous
in the darkest of days.
I hope to burn you
....with the same intensity
making your soul flicker bright.
May this intensity never cool
Or be left to extinguish
via an absent carer’s hand...
We’ll never be soot,
burnt out fragments
grey without the other.
The only visible pieces
of a life that was,
Pieces the wind picks up ...

Nothing More
Watching you sleep
Late the other night,
The shadows creasing your face
From the dim lamp light.
I was motionless in observing
With thoughts I dare explore,
Your hand reached out for comfort
Finding mine, nothing more.
My chest filled with warmth
and I squeezed back gently,
I’ve never loved anyone more
Or so felt intensely.
Decoding each other’s language
Like seasonal weather,
Making the other smile
We’ll always be together.
Having you in my life
Every day is a blessing;
Thank you for this feeling,...

Don't break me
It’s hard to describe
The heat that sits in my chest
I cannot say I love you,
Because it’s not enough anymore.
It seems to me I've fallen
And tumbled all the way down

Nor the ‘togetherness’ we’ve found.

All that I am is for you

Just a girl
I’m frightened
of what I cannot see
of the pain inside
that won’t go away.
I like coral pink
And my nails shiny
The sun in the sky
And the birds melody;
I love dressing up
Just to see your eyes flicker
The smell of perfume
Sparkle of fireworks
I love cuddles that never end
Being curled up in your body
It’s safe there.
I try to be stone
And not let it get to me
My silence a retreat
Not you personally.
But today I’m just a girl
A wide-eyed possum...
Just your girl.

You're not my happiness
I may have rolled, kicked and yelled
just to find a higher perch
closer to the blue sky.
I’ve clawed, hoped and sung,
from daybreak to dusk begun
just don’t mistake...
My fight for brightness
freedom and the right to be
you’re not my happiness
it’s not your responsibility see?
I may have cried, faded and hushed
because the waves seemed so high
pulling me under tight.
I’ve struggled, bucked and danced
But not one to be silenced

Fire night
I watched the flames lick the wood,
the sensual caress dance across
how it should...
the floating embers and soot
that graced,
the shadows as they fell across your face.
the coals simmer and flicker
with heat...
my heart falls into sync with your beat.
