An Exorcism of Romance
So faded, So hopeless, So without a chance to withstand
Spit on my grave, The dirt mirrors my torment
So fed up, So desperate, So without a face to save today
Save my ashes, The fire warms my broken soul
Finally, the feeling fades and leaves me with a bitter stain
My soul bears that which my skin could never contain
Fearless, and unabated, My shoulders take you in
To spit you out, To cast you out, An exorcism of romance

Each night we lay in hell, Praying for heaven and hoping for death

A Phoenix
Come inside, Lie down beside your angel and your demon
To truly face your fears, You must pollute the good in you
Breathe in, Sink deep into your mind and your soul
To truly face yourself, You must know yourself completely
Walk into your hell to destroy the hell in you
Rise up to your heaven to destroy the heavens
The only good you need is already inside you
The only evil that exists, Exists inside you
Our skin is but a fragile hollow shell, Begging for release
Cut to shreds, Burned to ash, And rebuilt every waking breath
We are but a phoenix...

Born out on the road, Destined to forever roam these lands
I was thrown out on my own, Fate forced me to live by my hands
I’ve lived a thousand days and the hourglass is forever losing sand
I’ve searched for so long, I need you to tell me who I am

A Thousand Tomorrows
The tyrants break and the victims call, Another holy war with a thousand ideas
When will yesterday end, When will today usher in another useless way to change
The victims break down and the tyrants call out, Another holy war lasting a thousand tomorrows
No one wants your bitter end, They just want to know who rules our everything
A nation built to honor the gods, Slaughters on the steps of congress and the house ignores

An image of innocence, You glance into the mirror, Hating your reflection
Your hair hangs loose upon your shoulders, Scars cover your wrists as ghostly hands

If this lullaby sang endlessly, Would the swans fly away to better days
If this desolate sound became my anthem, Would the angels still surround me
If tonight rose up and fought off the dawn, Would the shadows fight the light
If I gave in to the voices, Would the captors of my soul give me to heaven or hell

I was handed retribution, And from the ashes of a burning sun I arose
Out of the slumber of death, I staggered through desert and broken stone
