POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
With mirth and laughter let old wrinkles come.
Nature's Concert
The rainbow sings against the sky
its colours dazzling way up high
blessed by drizzles from above
where clouds silently reside
below the blue lake slumber
fringed by weeping willows
that slips their drooping boughs
to the water below
under this tree, I sit
feeling gentle nature at its best
Clashes of clouds way up
the warm and cold collide
frenzy come the thunderclouds
spitting ferocious lightning
and roaring thunderclaps
the azure sky then turns to grey
the sun hides it’s pretty ray
the rainbow sighs...

The Time of my Death
The Time of My Death
Among the pillows on my bed
Buried in my comforter
Just sinking into the softness
I listened with growing dread
The screams that grow from whispers
And the never ending tirade
I wish I was dead
I wish I died
Before I was born
Cos mother screams
“I never wanted you”
Father growls
“You are not my child”
Laying on my bed
My hands on my stomach
Where a little life lived
I hear father scream
“Its all your fault!
You birthed a slut”
Mother shrieked...

Reflections
How do we stand
against the buffeting wind
Of life’s offering
Like a sombre spread
a buffet of adversity…
Or the raging cyclone
Of emotions
That comes with it
How do we stand
against the crashing waves
that erodes the towering cliffs
of our inner shield
to keep away sorrows
erosive might
that may tumble us
into our darkest night
How do we stand
Against the raging storm
Of dissentions
When it hits our mind
And betray our faith
On love and one who profess
To love us
In return
We...

Dreams
Traverse the unsure
Land of dreams
Undulating dreamscapes of unreal
things, of pink sand dunes
and blue flamencos
there is peace
Flying through the land of dreams
Of tall pine trees
And everlasting greens
Spires of churches in vast green fields
Sounds of singing hills
Quiet hamlets
Swimming in bubbles
Colours of the rainbow trapped
Within the wet orb
Floating away over the garden
Of blue bells, tulips and dandelions
There is tranquility
In my dreamscape I am
So peaceful
So tranquil
So belonging...

If
If I could…
Soothe your brows
When you shed tears
I would.
If I could …
Kiss away your tears
And hold you against your fears
I would.
If I could…
Shield you from sadness
And give you gladness
I would.
But here I am travelling
This long lonely road
Alone
Just thinking of you
Wishing I could be
Your ardent shadow
But no…
I am sad and weary
Cold and hungry
And I think of you
Wishing if only I could
I surely would
Soothe your brows
When you shed tears
I would.
If I could …
Kiss away your tears
And hold you against your fears

Year End
The fireworks are gone
The party’s over
I am sitting here alone
Looking over at last year
Gone over the horizon
Like a distant cheer
Last year’s resolutions
Hang in the air
Painful reminders of has-been
Mocking the new wishes
To grow and prosper
Wistful thinking
So here I am alone
Just like it was before
There is nothing to be done
But live out the New Year
Until it’s not so new anymore
And it waits at the exit door
The party’s over
I am sitting here alone
Looking over at last year
Gone over the horizon
Like a distant cheer
Last year’s resolutions

Musings
Terraced paddy fields
On gentle sloping hills
Gently swaying grasses
Tall upon the plains
Shifting fluffy clouds
Shading the land
From too much sun
I hear the melody
Of bamboo flutes
A singer’s lilting song
In accompaniment
Distant calls of children
Barking of dogs
Boisterous laughter
On this bamboo floor
I sit and listen
To the bubbly brooks
The chirping birds
Harsh calls of hornbills
Splashes of darters
In the oxbow lake
Hugging my thoughts
Close to my heart
I know I will never leave...

The He that sees me
Oh God she clings
I wish she would not
And she blinks
Through her stupid glasses
I wish she would not
Wear that thing…idiot.
She uses contact lens
Purple I kid you not
the simpering idiot
If not for her warm
Arms and huge boobs
She would be history
She is five feet tall
A midget actually
And all of 60 kilos
She talks like a dreamer
That has never woken up
And she is a writer?
A five feet tall woman
Who thinks like a girl,

The Tribal War
In the darkness eons past
run the warriors of the mountain
in my distant land of mystery,
to battle called by challenges
by enemies from the sea
that swarmed like ants upon the sand
screams of mighty anger and rage
rend the Island’s balmy air
Clashes of swords and spears
of shields of cockles and cowries
the thunder of the tribal war
rang through the mountains
over the Aeries
and the valleys
seafarers’ swords that night did claim
full dozens slaves did they chained
towards the floating boats...

Age of Innocence
Scent of lilac in the evening air
Sounds of laughter from afar
Someone singing a melody
A rhythm of melancholy
And I think of then
Picking flowers in the meadow
Wading in the bubbly brooks
Chasing illusive butterflies
Smiling at bursts of colours
During drizzly days
Carving initials on tree trunks
Laughing at pretty woodpeckers
Doing their trunk-drums
Rolling on the grass
Getting all wet and dewy
Until you came my sweetness
Showering me with exquisite
Pleasure and desire
Fulfilling the vile lascivious urge...

Lest we Forget
Silent shadows filing up the tropical mountains
Forced death march by the conquerer
God turned away from his children
Who fought and killed for dominance of His creations
In a land other than their own
Full blasts, angry greedy minds of puny leaders
To ground the meek, force the inhabitants
To bow to their mighty civilisation,
The proud Flag of the Rising Sun flew
Flew over Borneo, over the Pinoys,
The Sulus, the kings of the seas
The sea dwellers, the seafarers
The tribal hill warriors
The graceful...

Anger
Kisses deep, gut hauling
hands mauling, shivering
erections on my body
all over, stabbing, prodding
all orifice used, no mercy
Just stabbing and thrusting
my mind crawled
my soul screamed
in anger, enough! enough!
Let me go...silent screams
echo and rebound
in the walls of mind's hell
Groping I grasped
a shiny knife
all nine inches of it
slashed, cut, stabbed
gouged, furrowed, sliced
Standing in the middle of the floor
I watched in silence
as five bodies no longer moved
lazily allow crimson...
