Words, Balms or Daggers?
The smallest of words.
most concise phrases
whether solo or combined
are heaviest in responsibility,
consequence, or
irreparable ramifications defined
Freedom to live life
as one chooses
to assuage pain of injustice,
infinitesimally salve deep wounds
of grief by evil wrought
on jury’s pronouncement hinges
whether “guilty” or not.
Resolve and dedication
to “I will, “I do,”
at nuptial altar easily uttered
may build institutions
of wedded bliss...

MISCELLANEOUS POEM

Regularity's Price
Golden grain nuggets,
really ground up rocks,
made,somehow, edible.
Containing more fiber
then a cardboard box.
Purpose? Debatable.
Breakfast cereal? Maybe.
But shouldn’t be fed to baby
Perchance, as popcorn ceiling mix
Or non-skid paving material
But if you find
yourself in a bind,
plumbing problems
It will, most certainly, fix
And if it’s grapes or nuts you wanted,
you surely will be disappointed

Reaching down
barely digging
extracting handfuls
sheets of yellowest gold
five decades of Autumns
mining this claim
wholly uncontested
Unabashedly consorting
with all manner of rakes
eschewing cacophonies
of puffed up blowhards
Young miners, at times,
appear less enthusiastic
laboring in crisp Fall air
they'll better appreciate
the seasonal exercise
when catapulting

of gathered gilt treasure

stowing tools
depositing the haul
soon to...

Left alone, disregarded, shunned
once labeled the only one
verdant garden now fallow ground
ecstasy echoes cease to resound
Yearning for love from once dead lover
obfuscated desire made clear undercover
use subterfuge in lust-driven pursuit
release sensuous songs, take them off mute
seize ostensible amor verdadero
escape the tedious life straight and narrow
loose steel bond forged in devotion, tempered in resentment
