Grip cannister firm
backwards-yank silver ring
tsssssssssssss!
optic yellow trio sing
intoxicating fragrance wafts
from taut rubber epidermis
fuzzy orb caresses the palm
soon flies to fulfill its purpose
when in cobalt blue sky is tossed
masochistic resilience
their mere mortal players lack
though constantly beaten
immediately bounce back
oh the sound of ecstasy!
when by the sweet spot struck
proximate to the sensual song
when electric G-spot's plucked
In shared love begins
ends when one wins...

Toe dipped in the sea
now up to your knees
feel the salty spray
beckon to take you away
pulse quickens
complete immersion poised
self-doubt, anxiety, fear
down-shift free will
to a practical gear
from horizon pregnant with possibility
to resignations shore return
merely refreshing stagnant reality
disdainfully gazing at spectator fence
safe, noncommittal perching place
passion’s wind billows, slaps your face
fills the restless soul like a sail
forcing change from doldrumic course
deaf to...

Writes Itself
Saying the very least
he’s a curious,
yet an inglorious beast.
Today, too early
our doorstep darkens
Topped by camo,
MAGA ball cap
sporting NRA polo
Predictable, comical ensemble
Thank goodness
I was taking a nap
Or, try as I might,
I could not
have stifled a laugh
A partial motive
for his ridiculous attire
To thumb his nose
at his California kin
Believing that by nature
and location of birth
I’m ultra liberal
Innately prone to sin
While my informed
estimation of him

This to all faithful, beloved readers,
and literary industry leaders
I am pleased to announce,
my next poem’s sure to be great,
a genuine page-turner.
well maybe not quite so lengthy.
a one, maybe half pager full stop
nonetheless a barn burner
replete with passion, ardent promiscuity
oops! That particular genre of verse
will have to wait till the first of later
I’ll remain within the bounds
of scintillating, passionate banality
filled with erudite social commentary
guaranteed the hoity toitiest of slop

Day On The Bay With Father - Setting Sail
At the ninth hour
we reached open water
perfect conditions
for a day in the sloop
not too gusty
not too calm
dad sets the jib
I help crank
The winch for main halyard
up the mast the mainsail shoots
ropes making the canvas sheet taut
are secured in cleats pinch
playful wind fill
flapping sail’s pockets
father smiles
as his pride and joy
on shimmering bay rockets
bow unzips the water
throwing foam side to side
as on the deep blue bay we glide.

Getting up with the Sun
going Sailing with dad
the one avocation
for which he has passion
sneaking out of our cul de sac
sailboat in tow
a 19 foot O’Day Daysailer
big enough to have a cabin
small enough for a centerboard
For if much bigger
It would have fixed keel
That we couldn’t
transport with trailer
The flagship
In our family fleet
with only one other
vessel a member
seven foot, eleven inch,
bathtub-like dinghy
mysteriously named an El Toro
with mast, sail, centerboard rudder ...
going Sailing with dad

It’s sound is hard to miss
like a Vespa commercial
from the nineteen fifties
drop-dead gorgeous,
ruby-lips topped
by black, cateye
Ray-Bans
accentuate porcelain skin
mediterranean goddess
raven hair poney-tail
floats on a breeze
peeking out
from polka-dotted scarf
a fashionista
