POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
Every poem of mine you read is a short film that's been played in my head; I don't claim to have the master's touch required to brush all the strokes accurately enough so that they may portray what truly goes on in there, but I'll try.
After Hibernation
This forms part of a series of poems I'll be posting this year, when I intend to make drastic changes in my lifestyle. This first week has been tough; make of this what you will.
Beasts don't recover their passions during winter...
They dream.
I am a forlorn sailor at sea
Afraid of acting, afraid to attempt to save
This very life that is dreadful to me
If this ocean is my winter,
And this sails are my convictions:
It is endless, and they are torn.
We simply cannot go on,
And on,
Thinking we're like beasts in...
Beasts don't recover their passions during winter...
They dream.
I am a forlorn sailor at sea
Afraid of acting, afraid to attempt to save
This very life that is dreadful to me
If this ocean is my winter,
And this sails are my convictions:

A New Year
The purpose of this series is to narrate, through poetry, my transformation over the course of this year, when I intend to make drastic changes to my lifestyle
Oh what a day to be alive!
The new year is born, the old expires
But soon enough the yearning masses
Return with blind desire
They all stumble as they strive
The green grasslands they turn to mire
Lazarus lives, and he implores:
Forgive me, sea, I've muddied the water
For twelve months and a fortnight, I was stranded
I've not honoured, for a second, mother nor father ...

Trainspotted
We all shall be wankers
All men and women
No hes and shes, he-shes nor she-hes,
And language shall be
No barrier to topple down
And children will be
Children
Sex shall be sacred
Sacred it shall remain
Work will be ethical
Justice, impartial
Art imperial, imperative
We shall be siblings in arms
We shall be things
Precious things shan't be precious
We shall be precious things
Things shall be better
All men and women
No hes and shes, he-shes nor she-hes,
And language shall be
No barrier to topple down
And children will be
Children
Sex shall be sacred
Sacred it shall remain

Clichés
I had to admit it, after all
I really did miss her,
The girl you don't see coming,
The girl you met in class and never uttered a word
The one who was there hidden
And you're the typical weirdo who thinks he's special
As if listening to Mozart makes you special
But suddenly you do feel special
Because she has discovered you and "gets" you,
But you know that what you crave for is attention
You should've kept it at friends but you didn't
You ended up in deep and both were hurt in their time
But this kind of thing will mend and break...

The mourning rock parable
My mourning is a rock
When it landed it was all I could see
There it was before me
Imposing, menacing
A dark figure casting a gargantuan shadow over me
There was nothing I could see but the rock and its shadow
The world that was before was gone
I wanted to creep under it and let it crush me
But it wouldn't
As it wouldn't go anywhere either
I tried turning around and walking away
But the shadow was so massive I couldn't find my way
Lost, I stumbled and fell and realized I...

"Madrugada"
There's a time
Between dawn and midnight
In Spanish it has a word of its own
And I think it deserves it
In this early morning of my life
Feelings, like light and darkness, intertwine,
And there's a reason to laugh,
For every reason to cry
I feel ready to leave,
The nerves and the fears grind my soul
Coupled with the oils of love and friendship,
Catalyzed nevertheless by denial and pride
I feel somewhat bound to stay,
These eerie hours are still bleak,
They are still nocturnal in a way,
But they're thinking of...

Shadow of your no
Time is of the essence, they say
But I still feel your presence linger on
You never left my side even though
You've never really been there
How could I just carry on,
Pick up the pieces from the floor,
If I'm entranced by the shadow casted by your no,
That worthless answer to my cause
In this crazy world
Who cares about a restless mind?
In these crazy times
Who cares about a crazy heart?
You did well to leave me here,
You did well to turn me down
But I still feel your presence linger on
You never left my side even though
You've never really been there
How could I just carry on,

Driven
Like a melody in my mind,
Striking chords with invisible hands,
Songs are sung about you,
And I listen in awe and wonder.
Like a clock ticking on the wall,
The time comes inescapably,
The hands are driven by something,
And my heart beats out of hand.
Like a green pasture waiting,
The rolling hills smell of fresh grass,
Conjure spring and its evergreen hope,
And I think serenely of our love.
Like rain uninvited storming in,
Clouds menace and the wind howls,
Thunder roars and cries: revenge! ...

The chemistry
Sometimes it would seem
As if the chemistry that alters me
Upon doing so controls me also,
It takes my will in its hands,
My destiny becomes her whim,
So much so that I personify her
Into something greater than me,
But that I know doesn't exist
And I think:
That if I already turned her into a person
And I have granted her power over me,
That it can still go further.
And I sing a song to that chemistry,
That I hope it be only one with yours,
That it go and that it come,
That it synchronize us,
That it finally debunk the...

Peace with Sunday
Greeting the gray morning, not wanting to,
Still immersed in dreams of jealousy.
Knowing what comes next,
But with inevitable anxiety,
I make a peaceful offering.
Finding my center, finding the ground,
Deep within myself, reluctant to leave,
Predicting the events that unfold,
Still twitching at times, still struggling,
I hold my earlier promise.
The day passes, I play my part duly,
I come out of the shell, unbothered,
Alert to the chemistry stirring,
I'm helpless to her calling,
But to the circumstances, honest. ...

Never to Say Never
You grow up and realize several things
You're as good and as bad as they are.
You put them on a pedestal
Or maybe not.
But I think that you stop being a kid when you get them down from there
Although childhood sometimes lasts a little,
And others, too much.
Surely there they kept themselves from the cold that the days
As they passed,
One by one, slowly, ceaselessly
Inflicted upon them.
However, with relatively scarce effort,
On board of the platform of the passing of the years
There is where you end up too
Without noticing
What's...

End of the Season Feeling
To be impersonal about it all
Would work out fine for me, you know
But I can't do that
To be a number, not a name
To see you as I see me
Would hurt my pride, I know,
But I won't stir up my envy
And be a sinner dressed as saint
To acknowledge those you prefer
Would not do a thing at all, they know
But I'd still want you
For I am not the hunter, but the prey
October was a dance,
It was a game.
November, a cry,
December, a cold pain.
January was numb,
Barren.
