Expressing myself was never my strong point until I was exposed to poetry at the age of 14. I still have trouble "voicing" my feelings but give me paper & pen or an electronic device to type there's no stopping me!

Before I Love Again
Before I love again
Remind me of all the pain
That I have lived through.
Before I love again
Tell me it's not worth
Being hurt again.
Before I love again
Take me down memory lane
Of the curse that has been my life.
Before I love again
Ask me what I'm getting into
Show me there's a way out.
Before I love again
Tell me if you think they're worth it
Or if you think I'll be hurt again.
Before I love again...
My heart needs to be mended
But is that even possible?
Remind me of all the pain
That I have lived through.
Before I love again

Damaged
I am damaged beyond repair,
And I don't give a damn who who even cares.
I want to be alone so I can cry,
Because that's the only way I know how to get by!
Sometimes I drink myself silly to ease the pain,
Because truthfully what's there to gain!
Sometimes I pretend to be happy and whole,
The broken pieces of me no on knows.
It hurts to live...it hurts to breathe,
Can someone stop the pain please?
I am so damaged and need know how to fix it,
I don't like it...NOT ONE BIT!
There isn't much keeping me here,
I'm so tired of each and...
And I don't give a damn who who even cares.

The Love I Seek
This song was written just a few months after losing the great guy I have even known...my dad. Next month makes 4 years of him being gone. For years I have been wanting to put this to music & every attempt has failed. Maybe soon my dream will come try but for now just trying to keep his memory alive!

A Kiss From Heaven
It's not everyday I get the kiss I desire,
That fills my heart with love and fire.
This kiss reminds me he is near,
As I miss him through every tear!
I want it to rain, I want it to pour,
Because I miss him more than I ever did before!
Each raindrop is a kiss from my dad,
To remind me to keep going and not be sad!
I miss his kisses, his voice and his touch,
And it's slowly killing me all so much!
Feeling his presence and having him near,
Isn't the same as having him here! ...
That fills my heart with love and fire.
