POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
My motivation comes from Whitman who writes; You are here! That life exists, and identity; "That the powerful play goes on, and you will contribute a verse."
The Garden Raptor
In an early morning autumnal fog, a predator hunts in its Coniferous Kingdom for a substantial meal,
Triangular head, alien eyes, elongated green-winged body, and formidable spiked forearms!
it's stealth, ability to surprise, and light-striking speed, make it a menacing predator in the field!
Patrolling its royal hunting grounds, the Ruler's tactical ambushes are now implemented and armed!
Hunting for anything on the menu, an unfortunate Hummingbird in his grasp, its fate sealed!
Struggling with its tow, up the Castle's steep...

Gargoyles
Gothic grotesque creatures, peering out from towering stone cornered perches,
Warding off the Devil, Evil, protecting Medieval Churches and Cathedrals,
Showering flagrant stares down below, to the meek, ignorant, and unfaithful,
A reminder to non-parishioners to come and join, or face the perils of evil!
Carved out of stone, and grossly decorated to look like half man and half animal,
Originally used for shedding water from foundations, as culverts and gutters, but are very practical!
It was believed that these creatures would...

A Familiar Place
i][i]I sometimes wonder in the darkest darkness, and realize that I am totally alone,
In a room with no one, unattached, loneliness overwhelms me, inside and out,
Attached to an intravenous tube, that slowly drips within me, in the danger zone,
Feeling like a free flying spirit, seeking a long lost soul, whirling and swirling about,
My flight was warm as a summer breeze, and yet, as cold as a frozen tombstone,
Upon awakening, I feel like I've traveled across eons of time in
the cold dark blackout,
Not quite recalling where...

The Awakening
A descending tractor beam releases its tow, and switches off . . . startled and awakened by the sudden darkness; your bedroom unveils a haunting and recurring nightmare,
Wide awake, withdrawn, and caught in a web of total disarray, your head at the foot, and feet at the head of your sweat-soaked bed,
Clammy genitals covered in a bloody seminal-fluid, your underwear on . . . inside out, a fresh crimson stain . . . discharged there! Glue-sticky saliva anchors your probing tongue in place, your throat sore, nose tender, where blood, now...
