If there is a God
If there is a God,
Then why are there people
Who are happy
And people
Who are not?
If there is a God,
Why is there suffering,
Why is there hate,
Why is there struggle?
If God is to punish,
How does He know what is right?
Who decides that?
Him?
How do we know He is right?
If there is Heaven,
Then why cannot everyone go?
For those who have done nothing wrong
But live their way,
Not having hurt anyone else,
Why cannot they go to Heaven?
Why does He discriminate
Between people for their...

Here you are inside yourself
Here you are, inside yourself,
Pick the seeds you find.
Sow the purchase of the land
Into your barren mind.
Till the soil of your spirit
Til youre broke and slow.
Watch the tiny seeds surface,
See the things youve planted grow.
Tender fingers tend the plants,
Water them with care.
Red and ripe the earth shall give
From land was once so bare.
Take the things youve grown so long
And put them up to buy,
Watch the patrons come and go
Beneath the broken sky.
Sell the things youve wrought from time

A million face turn
A million faces turn
A million different ways.
I am trapped inside the swarm
Just to be whirled away.
A million faces watch
With two million judging eyes;
A billion mental knots
Tied by billions of haunting lies.
A billion dollars spent
On an trivial campaign;
A trillion flyers went
And melted in the rain.
A trillion stars speck the sky
No more unique than you and I
Not even a googol of stars defy
That one day everything will die.
A million different ways.

Oh.
Stop.
Ready.
Breathe.
One, two.
Three, four.
Lights light on.
Take it all inside.
Nervous shuffling.
Pull your sleeves up.
Start the fingers going.
Play that tune, harmony.
Accompaniment, left hand.
Crescendo, trill, staccato, rest.
Accelerando, turn, counterpoint.
Almost there, the crux, fortississimo!
Decresdendo, tenuto, ritardando.
Fortepiano, piano, pianissimo.
Ritardando again, then stop.
Rest now, the end is here.
Steady your crazy heart.
Standing, from sitting.
Take your last bow.
Think...

Veil of Secrecy
Hark! Like the caw of the crow
Tell me now I need to know
What it is you hide from me
Beneath that veil of secrecy
Tell me now tell me here
Tell me right tell me dear
Tell me day and tell me night
Tell me and I'll make it right
From the fronds of truth you bear
Know you cannot ever err
Know you can that it is safe
Safe with my un-lying face

White
White porcelain plate,
Clean as a whistle,
Do you know why you are smooth?
Swallowed by glaze,
Smothered with thistle,
Colors so delicate blue.
White porcelain plate,
Speckled with unction,
Do you know why you are tainted?
Helping to sate
Voracious functions
Therefore with grease you are painted.
White porcelain plate,
Fractured in fractions,
Do you know why you are shattered?
Tragic mistake
Slip of an action
A clumsy, bumbling matter.
