Rhythm of Love
When I look into your eyes,
a river flows through me
The connection I feel with you,
In English or in Spanish,
there are no words to describe
Even though we're both far away,
you make every day a better day
Your voice,
resonates in my mind
My heart,
synchronizing in tune
to the rhythm of love.

I will walk until my knees are weakened
you call me on the phone and say your mind is shakin'
I will talk with you until my lungs stop breathin'
and 'til the sun's no longer shinin'
you say you've been dropped into a dark place
and your heart and mind, who will win the race?
with a dream you've been tryin' to chase
you wonder, has it all gone to waste?
you know the child within you still lives
something inside's been reignited
but over the years you've learned to hide it
and fight it
Suddenly you hear the words and...

I've been kicked while I was down
think you've got me all figured out
but you don't even know
Behind this smiling mask of lies
no one can see the pain inside
a broken heart, a shattered soul,
a piece of me that's dying alone

Alone
Another sleepless night alone
staring out my window
hoping for something
to fill the emptiness in me
I cry so hard I can't breathe
the tears keep on choking me
thoughts are raging through my mind
of whether I should live or die
I have no reason to go on
I try my hardest to stay strong
nothing in life ever comes easy
but how did it get so topsy-turvy?
Woke up the next morning
memories buzzing inside my head
of a dream that felt so real to me
saw you standing there beside me
I said “hello”, you said “goodbye”...
staring out my window
hoping for something

Confused
I don't honestly remember
ever having a single hug
or a pat on the back
or even a mother or father's love
I hesitate to speak my mind
'cause everything I say
is always wrong in their eye.
I've been called things that made me cry
I hated myself and just wanted to die
there's nothing that hurts worse
than to be hurt by the ones you love
it's the worst pain in the world.
Every time I try to mention it to them
they try to deny it and put shame onto me
but if none of this is true
then why do I feel this way? ...

Carry Me Home
Through the river of raging waters,
across the desert storm,
over a wall of rocky hills,
and through the ravines of nobility
to the place where many dreams lie
under the moon waiting to be granted
and where the sun can set my soul free
won't you take me in your arms,
and carry me there?
Across oceans of treacherous waves,
and into the nights, cold as ice
through bushes of vicious thorns,
and across floors of broken glass,
won't you take me to the place
where a loving heart awaits,
and with a tender touch ...

All They Need Is Your Love
All the pain would be at ease
if only we can live in peace
All the powers of the world
will rise above us all
The sun would shine brighter
than ever before
But the children,
Why must they suffer?
Let's pick them up
when they are down
let's cheer them up
when they're all frown
all they need is our love
A guiding hand,
a tender touch,
a soothing voice,
they're not asking for a lot
all they need is your love.
I used to dream

Stand now and make a pact
one heart is all it takes
to dry a tear in someone's eye
that's what we all must try
Heal the wounds of the broken
and bring out the joys that are hidden

I've bit into the apple of life
The sweetest memories that are so dear
will forever be cherished in my heart.
We've played happily, under the sun's golden rays

The Three Captains
Three captains aboard a boat,
out at sea from dawn till dusk
drinking booze from their boots,
getting buzzed and carrying on
One captain looks out the window
he spots something he'll never forget
he notions to his partners
who also take a glance
what they see, they'll never forget
Out that old foggy window
in the deep waters, calm and blue,
a great white heading their way
slamming into the side of the boat
making it sway from left to right
By the time the captains did as they needed
they've realized...
