To my daughter
Who will always be my little girl
From the time you was born
To the time you was grown
You always had a father
That you could call your own
To prepare you for a world
That can be so cold
Watch your step
And slow down your pace
Cause society will overlook
How smart that you are
Because you are a woman
Born black and beautiful
Some men will like your bodily assets
Before they love who you are
Beware of a charming smile
Or a muscular build
Judge your men wisely

Deprivation of Benevolence
For every minute my heart becomes hardened
Surrounded by conniving and disloyal maggots
Who considered themselves humans
Always begging and seeking for handouts
Never wanting to give what they had
But take from the generous
For the reasons why my heart is harder
Evicting the soft spots my heart once had
For people I thought I could trust
Just to turnaround and stab me with my own words
That once was generous
But now as cold as the Arctic air
Paralyzing my strength to move
Seizing the emotions I once shown ...

Boundaries I'm Confined Within
It doesn't pay to watch
People eating food
While I fight these sorrowful urges
Just the smell makes me weak
Hunger
I deeply feel
Thinking
An apple
Miracle Whip on a slice of bread
Cups of water
Still won't take this pain away
I'm hungry
Silently pleading, begging
For a bite to eat
But my pride, character
Won't let me abide
To seep low
Becoming ridicule for public view
So I sit and wonder and wait
When will I consume
A decent amount of food to eat

Irreplaceable Parts of My Life
I'm paralyzed
But yet I can move
These years I been fighting
I struggled through
I've lost an arm and a leg
But whoever said
I would get my cake
And eat my ice cream too
I had to endure hardships
To penetrate this hard head
My momma always said I had
But to be able to see, breathe
And speak when spoken
At least there's one thing
She can be happy for
But yet
I have lost teeth
The very thing
Coroners identify bodies with no names
A part of my soul taken
When pain
And...
But yet I can move

Life is so cold

I humbled myself
To the surrounding sorrows
That intercepts into mine
Positive vibes
Everyday for me
It's a struggle to survive
Closing my ears
To outside distractions
But when death
Creeps into my home
Accepting a family member
Younger than myself
It taps into my pride
Adding resistance to my stride

Words don't hurt

Through your teen years
Because you don't fit in
What they call...the elite class

Anything for people to scrutinize

A desirable drive
To reach out to a woman
I haven't spoken to in over eight years
Hoping
To hear a sign of forgiveness
For leaving her behind
But not wanting
To refill the place
The abandonment of the relationship

It would never be the same
Because I was the first to deceit
I captured her
