POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
Words come knocking on my door, I'm left with no other choice than to welcome them in.
‘Dried up Well’
48 years has gone by after the passing of Martin Luther King
He said “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are we doing for others?’
Long life was what he would have wanted to have
But most importantly, the people was he willing to serve
Although his life on earth was not one of longevity
He still managed to have a life full of positivity.
With his famous words ‘we shall overcome’
Let me ask you this,
What shall we overcome?
What have we overcome?
What are we overcoming?
The dream that was birth out of his burning zeal and hope...

ABSENCE WITHOUT LEAVE
Salty tears rolling down hills of turmoil and pain
Constructed image being torn apart into bits and pieces
Drums beaten yet still the sound can’t be heard
Not from afar off neither beside me.
Dada did call me his little angel
Soothed me when I cried just to make me feel better
But my life for now is in hell, and from here I write you this letter.
I am not yours to hold in contempt
Nor a trophy to show off to the world
One that shines no more, for the stars have flown down after my hopes came crashing.
For what it’s worth, the sound of your voice knows...

Drums beaten yet still the sound can’t be heard
Not from afar off neither beside me.

Peace From My Broken Pieces
Food has no taste
The air is of no importance to me
My existence seem meaningless
With you gone
It's a void space
My heart has gone on a wild voyage
It has grown tired of being beaten down
If only I had taken care of it.
Shattered pieces are scattered all over
Debris, bits of pieces still remind me of you.
Your Footprints are deeply embedded in my memories.
Your Fingers has laced your name in my skin
Trying to wipe it out will only make matters worse.
But I still smile
I smile from the pains you caused me
How my heart wimped...

Incomplete
When i see you;
I see me.
Me in you,
and us in love.
Like water in the ocean,
filled, never ending.
At times i feel myself drowning,
but you take me back up surface.
Saving me from the 'love hurts' scenario.
I see me.
Me in you,
and us in love.
Like water in the ocean,
filled, never ending.
At times i feel myself drowning,
but you take me back up surface.
Saving me from the 'love hurts' scenario.

Just some random piece
They told me i can be anything i want to be.
Just look at the mirror and tell me what do you see.
Do you know what i see?
I see fear gnashing it's teeth at me
I see myself engulfed in insecurity
I see my dreams draining down the sink
I see... I see.... I see ME.
But what can ME offer?
What can ME do?
My mother told me not to stop believing in myself.
But how can i believe in a fairytale,
a mirage that can hardly be seen.
