Slow Tempo Feeling
I don't want to be a sad song
but I've got a slow tempo feeling
I don't want to love you this much
I don't think that I can take it
I don't know whose side you're on
but I don't think it's mine
so I am switching sides
I don't want to be a downer
or the one to call it quits
I don't want to be the person
who just couldn't handle it
but these long, long nights
they just wear me down
so I'm taking back the crown
I don't want to miss you badly
but I already kind of do

The Rabbit Hole
A red cherry in her drink
and red thoughts on her brain
sometimes feel like bullets
sometimes like going insane
another round to be merry
or maybe drown out the red
with some blue to sleep on
some relief for her head
She goes down the rabbit hole
down, down, the rabbit hole
trying to find something to hold
slipping down the rabbit hole
At the bar she asks for "drink me"
because her skin feels tight
bartender knows her well by now
and tells her not tonight
but call him in a week or so
when his girl is gone...
and red thoughts on her brain

Happy
What is it to be happy?
if you can forgive the question
I know everyone asks it
and you're ready for the next one
but my simple mind is stuck at this
if such a happy state exists
why does it elude me?
why can't I find it
I don't think it's money
but I suppose I wouldn't know
my pockets are always empty
but I get where I need to go
I've never been a saver
or much of a savior
I'm just a high strung gypsy
looking for a rolling stone
and if one these days...

Candy
She was the sweetest girl nobody wanted
wearing black and looking at the door
some people are just born haunted
and will spend forever searching for
the kind of quiet people call peace
that's always stolen away from her
in the night just like a thief
does she need to be more aggressive
and get caught it between her teeth?
but she woke up today tired
so she'll just go to sleep
Candy melts, and Candy sticks
but most of all
Candy's sick of all this.

I am cool with no control

I can either put both of my feet in
or keep trying to walk on my hands
dead ends, dead beats and their best friends
trying to explain how the stars align
and I've got opinions on the matter
but I think I'll save them for like minds.
