Sit Down

You said, "what do you want from me"
and I know, I know what that means
people who have to ask they
usually have nothing to give you

I sat in silence in your room
checked the clock, 6am soon
the sun will rise and I will leave
and I know you think I'll come back

but this time I don't think that

You didn't ask if I got home ok
only if I touched your bag of weed
I got home ok, no problems babe
thanks so much for asking

I hope you're high as fuck right now

In two weeks when I don't show up
I wonder if you'll notice
you tend to get a little wrapped up
so you might not even notice

I can't pretend that I don't care
but I can't make you want me there
I'm opting out of the pursuit
I've got blisters from chasing you

All I want to do is sit down.

You said, "what do you want from me"
and I know, I know what that means
people who have to ask they
usually have nothing to give you

You have nothing to give me.
