POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
I write what I know, and there is always so much more to learn.
The Blade
Every day
another struggle.
Demons emerge from
shadows in every corner;
threaten to suffocate me.
Every day
the pain increases
and my heart beats
in rhythm with
each unbearable second.
Every day
I slice deeper
to numb the ache
in my soul since you left.
The numbness abandons
me, the slice of each dip
of the blade is what I live for.
Every day
I wish I could go where
I want to;
where I need.
But I know it will only
raise questions,
send me far away
where blades are forbidden.

Worthless
I am nothing...
slipping into the darkest shadows
where no one will find me.
Used.
Beaten.
Bruised.
All people do is hurt,
bring pain, then leave.
Alone is what will be written
on the stone residing over
a soulless body.
But I'm already a shell,
empty,
frozen,
searching for any life within.
Loving daughter,
cherished wife,
caring mother.
Facades that don't exist,
will never exist, ...
slipping into the darkest shadows
where no one will find me.
Used.
Beaten.
Bruised.
All people do is hurt,

Alone is what will be written

My Only Best Friend
Sitting on my bed
I see a glint of metal
wink at me
from across the room.
The moon illuminates
the blade watching me,
calling me.
I cannot give in,
I won't give in.
My arms and legs have
shed too much blood,
are scarred beyond recognition.
But I want it,
I need it.
My heart races, my
soul aches.
Horror flashes across
my closed eyelids
like an eternal movie
playing in my head.
The blade will numb me,
will block the pictures
of things I cannot forget.
It's always been...
I see a glint of metal
wink at me
from across the room.
The moon illuminates
the blade watching me,
calling me.
I cannot give in,
I won't give in.

Are You Anywhere?
Not just another airhead
with my head flying high,
always roasting, but leaving
when it gets too hot.
Don't want to give in to
another fucked up babysitter.
But this party's whack;
I always end up biting my lip
until it bleeds.
I'm tied up in that frayed
rope.
Twisting and turning I have no
hope.
I'm alone with the seeds
of malice and disappointment.
I can't go home because
mother is always there
with another deadly poke.

My Little Secret
Across the room
you stood, shyly watching
as everyone danced.
Gathering courage
I slid my way through the
crowd to you.
The question burning
on my lips, bursting
from my mouth.
Startled, your eyes seduced
me to the floor.
Dancing;
together, alone.
Everyone faded away,
leaving us to our fantasy.
I wrapped my arms around
your slim shoulders,
my head rested upon
your chest.
When I looked up
our eyes connected.
Leaning foreward,
our lips met.

Embrace Me
I remember
when you held my
hand for the first time.
My breath caught
in my lungs,
and my hands shook.
My eyes looked up
to meet yours,
and I was forever
mesmerized.
You told me
I was it,
you said I was yours.
Deep down,
I knew it was true.
Deep down,
I had to believe it was true.
My sanity rested upon
you.
I remember,
that night you witnessed
my deep, dark secret.
You looked me in the eyes,
lifted my chin to meet
your gaze,
and held...
when you held my
hand for the first time.

Diamonds of the Sky
You bring sweet relief
or disastrous pain.
You can quench
the dying thrist
but drown an
innocent child.
Hide my tears,
or lead me out
to a land of imaginary
falling diamonds
pouring from the sky.
Who decides
whether you bring
pain and suffering
or life and happiness?
or disastrous pain.

Night
I was sober.
I was naive.
I pretended
it was okay.
You walked me back
to my room,
a gesture I was
unfamiliar with.
I blushed under the
moonlit sky,
oh how I wanted
to hold your hand.
I wanted to sleep,
but you would not allow.
I wanted you to leave,
but you forced your way in.
I obliged.
Glasses forgotten on
my desk, I couldn't
see a thing.
I left the door open,
remembering
what my parents
had taught me,
so many years ago.

Second
That one second,
minute, hour
it took for love to begin.
Or did it end?
For me, I had hoped
it wasn't the latter.
I fear it might have been.
You still hold her
tight in your mind,
your heart, your soul.
I cannot live up
to what she was; is.
I will always be second,
while you hold first in my life.
Subconsciously, I know
when she beckons,
I will be left alone
drowning in the tears
shed for you;
cuts bleeding for you;
heart yearning for you.
Do I stay, and torture you ...

It Is Love.
My heart races
and my hands shake
when you look
straight into my eyes.
Is it love?
I am myself;
no mask, no hiding,
no persona when I am
with you.
Is it love?
With others
I have to pretend,
for fear I am too intense.
They cannot handle me,
but you embrace me.
Is it love?
You know my every secret,
my every wound and
fear. But,
while others would turn away,
you tell me I will be okay.
Is it love?
Long nights have passed
with...
and my hands shake
when you look
straight into my eyes.

Passion burns inside
my soul for you;
my fire,
you keep me warm
when I am so ice cold.
In one second
my heart was on the ground
but you picked it up,
and brushed it clean.
Sunsets pale in comparison;
they hide because they are ashamed
to be imcomparable to the
warm radiance you omit.
When I awaken
my first sight is your face
staring straight into my eyes.
I hope to await your return
from caring for me in every way.
Never a moment do...

Secret Pleasure
Alone.
Finally alone.
Door closed and locked,
lights off; privacy.
My fingers slide down,
lower until they reach their destination.
The skin there is warm and wet,
oh so very wet.
Beginning slowly, I caress
the key that unlocks the door
to what I dearly long for.
My finger wanders across
exposed flesh, taking careful
time finding sensitivity.
I stop, where it begins.
Holding there,
the intensity builds; my heart is racing
and my breath is short.
