OBSERVATIONAL POEM

Bully
I feel filthy
Violated and unsure
Searching for the remains
Of where they were
The remnants of a person
In the place we had lured
We didn’t have to do it but
We did anyways
The girl we tortured
She won’t be okay
All the cruel actions,
All the ugly words we’d say
Seeing her with her ugly bangs
“Four eyes” and “Bucktooth”
Teasing and taunting
A gash nothing could sooth
What we spoke
Wasn’t even close to the truth
We tore and we ripped
Shredding her soul
Till all that was left
Was this empty hole...

Seed of Kindness
Listen to me closely
As I speak what must be spoken
It’s a knowledge we all contain
The silence has finally been broken
Open your eyes
Look around, what do you see?
I see misery, torture everywhere
And anywhere it could possibly be
There is hope
I also see a light
A light to lead the way
It shines so bright
No, it is not God’s light
Or any religious sphere
It’s just a light that reflects
The kindness of a person near
Not just anyone
Can fashion a light so bright
Only one distinctly pure
Who wishes...
As I speak what must be spoken

Butterflies and Spiders
Butterflies are those girls
Who scatter to and fro
Their wings whispering softly
Hooking you in a like a pro
All they need
Is a seductive word here
A provocative gesture there
They pull you near
Not nearly as harmless
As you first thought
Sucking you dry
Better I thought you were taught
You could do better
Empty in the head
Everything they do is automatic
And that’s all I’ve said
Spiders, everyone backs away
Not nearly as pretty
As those butterflies
But twice as witty
They’re the ones...

Over the Edge
Everyone’s mean and cruel
Pummeling and stealing
Talking lies, spreading rumors
Hurting someone’s feelings
You start on a boy
Because he’s too short
Or on the girl next door
Because she’s just the right sort
I never thought
I would be the one
To reestablish reality and
Ruin everyone’s fun
Preaching to everyone
How could you do this?
How could you tear someone down?
You have everyone on your list
You continue on
Leaving everyone one in the dust
Believing your the queen bee or king of the hill

Wise Beyond Her Years
Little girl, trying to find your place
Searching and searching for a friend
Trying to find where you belong
A heart you can never mend
Torn apart by broken promises
And a hand that they couldn’t lend
Betrayal and lies
Scattered across your past
Seeing everyone leave
How long will this last?
The lies and bullying
All the rumors that they cast
Little girl, stay strong
We’re coming to the rescue
Soon you’ll be okay
Just stay for a few
If you can’t, we understand
We’ll deliver the justice you’re due
Stay away...

Circles
Walking in circles
Going through the motions
Not dead, but not alive
In a state of desolation
Fake a smile, hide the tears
Long sleeve shirts to cover the scars
Living almost isn’t an option
I’m going to sleep staring at the stars
Smear on my mask
My default face I drew
A facade everyday
No one can see through
I’m walking circles
Don’t know where to go
Everybody’s watching
But no one knows
Round and round
I’m still wandering
Wonder how long I’ll carry on living?
I sat, pondering
Finally,...

Hive Mind
Everyone with their identical expressions
Cold eyes and flat lips
Unwavering stares watch me
Waiting for my facade to slip
Clones, drones, zombies
Everyone is alike
Same clothes, same tastes
Almost robotic like
They walk in V formation
All the ‘losers’ cringing as they pass
Who will they strike next?
How long will this last?
Vacant, empty spaces of personality
Everywhere in the stifling air
Spinning, twirling and weaving
Appearing only to those who dare
