The world replies
Yes or no
Acquiesce
Or repeat
Life is simple like that
No answer
Wrong question
Rephrase
Listen
Opposition
Is opposites
Do we see both sides
To always be right
Is to be God
To always be learning
Is to be a disciple
One can discipline one's self
In right ways or wrong
Ways change
But there is always right or wrong
Here many are lost in the way

What you are shown
Or what you dream
You see as you believe ...

Old Souls
Some people are born "old souls"
To others it comes with time
Some only know playing the fool
Connecting no dots, reason or rhyme
They're already prepping the next plandemic
Sheep will be sheep and take the shot
There will be masking, school closings
And shortages - (can toilet paper be bought?)
Will you let them lock you in your home
Will you let them lock you out of work
Will you let them lock you kids out of school
Social distance while they party with their smirks
You know exactly who THEY are

The sun's setting
Twilight's heaven
The blue of your eyes
The caress of the evening breeze
Your hair soft falling
Words
Felt more than heard
Whisper close
Sweet nothings
Meaning everything
Kisses
Tender at first
Tracing your lips and your face
Wanting more
A flutter of wings
Then birdsong nearby
Lost in your eyes
In nature's stirring

Who I never knew
But always was knowing
Learning love anew
A touch at a time

Old Tractors
I know old places
Soul seared under years of southern suns
Two lane roads and pines
And fields where cotton grows
Red clay and deep roots
God, family, country
Deep
To some love's about the falling
But there's a deeper here for me
It needs new words
Understandings
In the evening late
'fore the sun has set
Taking the edge off the swelter
And the day just lays hot
Quiet as the moment 'fore the fiddler places his bow
Sometimes the breeze will stir ...

Same As Last Year
The green yella's in the heat
Wilts
Leaves droop in the swelter
The shade's hot
The sunlight's hotter
Not enough breeze
To even stir the leaves
It's said, "Only mad dogs and Englishmen
Go out in the heat of the midday sun"
Southerners take the beat down too
Dog days
Red necks
And farmer's tans
The black top sizzles
Red clay dust
Powders washed out gray asphalt
Need rain
Temps dancing near 100 for days
Say it might drop to 88
And give us a break ...

Your lips speak prayers
But your eyes play with fire
And I don't know if our story will ever be told

A stranger in a strange land
For you must die before you die
Whose seed was promised
As the stars of heaven
As the sands of the sea
Not the plants of the garden
Or the beasts of the field
Deep calleth unto deep
The sea above, the sea beneath
As above, so below
Tis said men would enter cathedrals
Invariably from the west
Traveling west to east
Toward the rising sun/son
Leaving land of shadows behind
But from the Garden eastward
Came but to the land of Nod
And whence came Magi...

Before dawn, early, you were there
Dreams, thoughts, memories
Awash with the sunrise
The cool yet warm of summertime

If a building is stood up
Then a foundation "understands" it
That which is established on earth
We understand beneath the earth
