Last minute escape
Decisions made
Chest tightening
thoughts and feelings
Unbearable unrest sceams
Not crossroads but a dead end
Last chance to turn around
before the option is off the table
A sacrifice needs to be made
She leaves behind something precious
Every choice comes with a price
There is no price too high for freedom
she says as she turns on her heels
and runs towards the future
to escape once more
because nothing
is written

Somewhere in Mexico
On the corner
in a mexican border town
there stands a donkey
for kids to ride on
He has a piss bucket
tied under his belly
as to not soil the walkway
Sights like this I just love about Mexico

Money
Hate it
or love it
You can't deny
you need it
Too little or nothing
can end you up
in the streets
Too much of it
can rot your soul
It is not who you are
It can't buy you love
but you need some
to give you the peace of mind
from where you can be
loving with yourself and others
All the people
who say that money is just an idea
had plenty of it
All the people
who say that it doesn't make a difference
have never lived out of a car
All the people
who have ever been in the streets ...
or love it

Another rough ride
Flowing through violent waters
fear on my side like an old friend
Not to know where the current will take me
Just a prayer to keep me afloat
A storm in my back
and one in front
All I know is that
I've been here before
and somehow I made it through
So why shouldn't I this time
I think to myself
Meanwhile my little ship
is riding big waves
and the wind
is whipping up froth

Seasons change
Impatiently waiting
Summer soon about to fade
still hot winds are blowing
last breath of a season
the soil awaits the seed
River bed sand runs
through my fingers
decomposed matter added
fertile ground will soon
give birth to tender life
When seedlings open
first delicate leaves
like little arms opening
to greet the light
with it will come
new energy
new joy
new ideas
new poems

Nature trip
My green carpet is like a field of moss
I lay down and watch it grow
Tiny fernlike tentacles start to undulate upwards
grow into plants that reach toward the ceiling
I watch in awe and admire their grace
They start talking to me
First a whisper
Then it becomes louder
What did you say?
Ahhh....those words....and the meaning
Tell me more you sentient creatures
Wait a minute

Sweetheart.....what did you put into my tea?

All stays in the family
Another bag of potato chips
A slice of pizza or two
A bucket of 7up to flush it all down
Mommy's wearing her muumuu
the one with the little purple flowers
and the cute ruffles around the neck
She swings the flab of her arms around
and waddles into the living room
Her husband died 5 years ago from a heart attack
I am so happy to have my boy she says
He enjoys his comfort food
He is 25 and never had a girlfriend
Pudgy fingers dive for another chip
as he pushes the button of the remote control
I have some...

Cometh you foul beasts
I have smelled your putrid breath
the stench which comes before you
the stagnant emulsion oozing out of your rancid glands
the moldy lichens growing in the dark corners of your lairs
