Do you remember the last time that we made love
That October night in 2010
Halloween morning way above
The city lights and that was when
I reached Nirvana in your strong arms

The shit hit the fan
If it was only possible
To rewind to that time
When my hand slid into yours
Like silk

Like butter
And we kissed for hours
We moved in time and our rhythm
Was a spiritual song a gospel hymn

I sometimes ruminate
About the absurdity of life
And envision us all as tiny ants
Days filled with unnecessary strife
But what does our creator
See when she looks down
From the celestial viewpoint

And only females on this earth

To give life
To an otherwise void universe

If I was still in Texas
I’m quite sure all my exes
Would still be banging on my bedroom door
Hitting this up and demanding more
If I was still in my addiction
I’m quite sure my predilection
Would still be spending time
Casting my pearls before swine
If I was still afraid

Would paralyze my ability
And prevent me from this freedom
My addition was my jailer
My vices were the chains
That held me down
And kept me in constant pain
My addictions led me down paths
