More Than Likely
Always be careful when wishing for something
Everything appears different as it becomes real
Beware of who offers access to that brass ring
More than likely it’ll end up being a horrible deal

Supermarket Sweep
Never ending aisles
Oh grocery store
Two for one offers
Feed me it all
Baskets in bloom
Trollies a glee
Shopping list frenzy
Food spending spree
Shelf upon shelf
Line after line
Screaming bored children
Pass me the wine
Decision, decision
No thrill, top brand
Decision, collision
Octopus hand
Delivery option
Armchair, online
Shopping unpacked
Where is that wine?

Less News, More Art
What survives the centuries?
Art.
There have always been fires,
both real and metaphorical.
They are currently burning fast and furious
with plenty more on the way.
Enough with the ceremonial doom dance around each one.
Less news.
More art.
Create it every way you can.
And dance to celebrate the joy.

Toxicity {Blessings}
I can't front...
Tho I like the Quiet...I kinda miss the Riot
The flagrant...facetious
Those Lyrical Vagrants...the Nomadic fuckery
The Bullshit and the Filibustering
The endless campaigning for Bad Behavior...
Complaining...yet still coming back for More of the Same
Excusing the Ruse...
Gaslighting Emotional Fuses...
Toxic as fuck...
Vixens disguised as Victims
Fuck Boys perpetrating as Good Guys
It was the best of Times and the worst of Times
And I was here...

One In A Million
Hit the road running towards the morning light
Had to leave this room that constricts all hope
Tripping on savage words holding no meaning
Artificial love intoxicates some synthetic dope
Everything that’s been thought of is already done
Nothing new resides underneath this setting sun
Potential enemies are so quick to brandish a gun
What are the fucking odds it’s like one in a million
Careful of the sword that keeps alive the dead
It’s a mythical legend filled to the brim with sin
Insignificant means breed discontent in a mind ...

Achromatic
There's abandonment in an all day rain
when humans surrender to the grey skies
and sit to listen to the gutters drain
and juncos by birdbath freely baptize
with waddle-some mourning doves attending
and squirrels contributing drenched fur grey
for a somber wild kingdom blending
of rodent fleece and bird feather display
and raindrops hanging to refract the air,
sullenly, and to showcase maple bark,
now winter bare for its grey to compare
the melancholy monotones so stark
that when the crows announce their arrival
I...

It’s a shame
It’s saddens me
To no end
When the world can’t see
What I see
That a person’s unique abilities
The qualities
That make them unique
Don’t matter if it’s not mainstream
What a pity
That not everybody can see
Them the way I do
It’s saddens me

Cruel World
We were thrown together
Working a temp job we were both overqualified for.
He, a recent college grad soon to begin a master's
And me, who had gotten my bachelor's
somewhere around the time his parents were in kindergarten.
We talked about everything
Movies
Music
Politics
What the future of the world might hold
What America would be like in fifty years
Even ten.
It turned depressing from there.
Cruel World, young guy said, shaking his head
How long have you known that? I ask

Look Out!
Fear is an addiction,
A debilitating disease!
Best that you control it
Or it will bring you to your knees
People become addicted to fear
Fear is a puppeteer!
Fear will minimize your goals
Fear will weigh down your soul
Fear's tongue is covered with shards of broken glass
It will lick your brain to shreds, lay you flat on your ass!

Dispersion
Settling in a westering blow
of mid December cold,
she gave her customary glow
so clouds could spin in gold.
Flaxen vorticals atwirl;
sylvanite of the sky;
the mother of moonbeam pearl
and the apple of my eye!
Hypnosis in the turbulence
held me in its sway,
since ensorcellment refulgence
was peace by lunar ray.
And thus I watched the vapor swarms
advance at break of day,
blending moonlight with the rainstorms...
by photon ricochet.
