Again:

Separation of Church and State: Biden
Project 2025: Trump

You're not voting for a man - you're voting for a policy. And that policy is separation of church and state or Christian nationalism.

This is the only real choice that matters right now.  Very well said, Ahavati.

And wow, Rew.  Good stuff.

All global conservatives, and especially MAGA, are an extinction level threat to all humanity, and the entire ecosphere that we depend on for our survival.

That's a broad claim, so I hope I will be allowed to explain.

First, folks may wonder just what I mean when I say...global conservative.

Let's start with a definition and elaborate from there...

con·ser·va·tive  (kən-sûr′və-tĭv)
adj.
1. Favoring traditional views and values; tending to oppose change.
2. Traditional or restrained in style: a conservative dark suit.
3. Moderate; cautious: a conservative estimate.
4.
a. Of or relating to the political philosophy of conservatism.
b. Belonging to a conservative party, group, or movement.
5. Conservative Of, designating, or characteristic of a political party founded on or associated with principles of social and political conservatism, especially in the United Kingdom or Canada.
6. Conservative Of or adhering to Conservative Judaism.
7. Tending to conserve; preservative: the conservative use of natural resources.
n.
1. One favoring traditional views and values.
2. A supporter of political conservatism.
3. Conservative A member or supporter of a Conservative political party.
con·ser′va·tive·ly adv.
con·ser′va·tive·ness n.

Great. But what does that mean in practical terms?

Compare and contrast global events and we will quickly and easily notice (unless we are particularly dense) that so-called western (conservative) values have been foisted off on the world as a good thing, when events from the crusades all the way up to what's happening in Gaza today make it crystal clear that almost every Levantine tradition has been as toxic as the crude oil they've also pumped and dumped as something good when it actually isn't, and as often as not by selling it under the broad banner of freedom.

Let's expand our thinking about just what it means to be or act as a conservative when applied to the action of abstract thought itself, beginning with the question...is more or less thinking a good thing?

Less thinking, or thinking conservatively, compared to more thinking...or liberally.

Which sounds better?

Call me a libtard if you like, but I think the answer is obvious that we ought to be using our brains more than conservatives want us to.

Not using our brains more generously leads to the repeating crises that the petro-oligarchs and international arms dealers so dearly love to cash in on.
People in general are never more expendable than when they are an obstacle to leaders who are slaves to, (because they are the political beneficiaries of), an electorate that believes in an afterlife, and afterlife psychology is the worst poison of them all, since it has been so routinely used to justify terrorism and mass murder, like what the National Rifle Association supports. So much for pro-life.

It's a finite world, and it's getting easier for monkey see, monkey do evil, and because of that we can fully expect MAGA to follow through with their desire to bomb Mexico, because Trump's sick buddies Putin and Bibi have committed mass murder in spades and who has really tried to stop them?

It doesn't take a degree in psychology to see that Trump has been chomping at the bit to rubber stamp genocide when we put the two and two together from all of his off-hand pro-violence comments from shooting someone in Times Square to his more recent Mexico remarks.

Conservatism has devolved into blatant barbarism. Gone are the well read apologists for conservatism, like George Will, as MAGA has as systematically replaced them as the Nazis did a train load of live Jews for a carcass pile at Auschwitz.

They will never, ever, even try to redeem themselves, as Christ tried to role model for them.

It's also important to point out that constitutions are not like the law of gravity, because constitutions can be altered by the people, and should be, especially when their constitutions have been willfully tampered with by a minority that's very disturbed, highly vocal, collectively psychotic, and extremely dangerous.

So, someone from England explain the parties? Is the Conservative party there the same as here in the U.S?

LONDON (AP) — Great Britain's Labour Party has defeated the Conservatives in a historic parliamentary election for control of the nation's government. With most votes counted, here's a breakdown of the numbers:

Thank you for rising above and ignoring the insults.

PoetWarrior,
I wish posts would get reported for things like:
being delusional
mind-reading
bat-shit craziness
believing the endless hoaxes about former President Trump
equating Trump-supporters and conservatives with Nazis, genocide, sexual assault, an "enemy to democracy" (whatever the fuck that means), a threat to human-kind, and worse (and implying that violence, much less simple dishonesty, are totally justifiable in the face of such existential threats as conservatives be)
Emotionality
being shrill
being a female scold
being a moron who knows little or nothing about history, including the broad strokes of imperialism, the barbarism & brutality of Goddess / Nature cults going back thousands of years, the gifts the patriarchy has given not only women, but to many less developed nations, the lack of human rights awareness in 3rd world countries, how the concept of "the individual" (not to mention individual expression, or "self-expression) was an invention of Western European Patriarchy, etc., etc., etc.
Yet, such shortcomings never seem to receive much in the way of outrage.

Thanks Ahavati,

I will be delighted to keep things as civil as I can, without shying away from difficult topics, since a truly open mind ought to be able to handle that, like how universities used to be before conservatives began to censor everybody but themselves.

With that in mind, I think this bears repeating...

If the recent events in the middle east answer any lingering questions, such as what exactly does organized religion organize for, then now the answer is clear…they organize for violence.

There is no such thing as a Levantine religion of peace.

Subsequently to this we must wonder what it is about the Levantine oriented beliefs that so virulently promote violence, not only in the middle east, but worldwide.

And the answer to that is the enabling idea of an afterlife, and all the phantasmagorical promises that come with it. Once a rube is conditioned (groomed) to be a part of the afterlife belief community then they no longer have a stake in the community of the here and now living reality, with all of its obvious inconveniences. Thusly all such belief is a de-facto death cult since they enable all the psychological motivation many suicidal and homicidal folk already possess to commit the atrocities which are often at play in their ugly emotional crannies.

Heap into all this the industrial surplus of weapon idolizing conservative culture in every corner of the uneducated world and we have the perfect global recipe for total war, which is what the global apocalyptically minded conservatives had in mind all along.

What to do? Just what may the remedy be?

Frankly, the world has progressed well past any point of return toward some sort of peace-loving existence because the practitioners of invective have already poisoned the common mindset so badly that war is inevitable. Conservatives know full well that there are enough weak-minded people who can, and have been, inculcated toward all manner of hideous social sabotage.

Even a cursory historical survey is enough to let us conclude that almost all warfare has been attributable to conservative scheming and hyperactively maniacal rhetoric. Even “peaceful” biblical traditions such as shunning do not encourage conflict resolution, other than continued warfare.

Ratio and proportion used to be valued in the classical world, so much so that the notions were even applied to judicial practice, but the total warfare encouraged by capitalistic elites regularly nurture the reprehensibly massive kill ratios of many multiples of civilian casualties for every combatant, all to preserve the welfare of each and every inaccurately perceived “chivalrous” trooper, who commonly commits a sickening diversity of war crime.

There’s not much we can do as individuals, but we can choose not to associate with the people we already know are afterlife idolizers and violence enablers. Many of us already know this at some level, but now is the time to call a murderer for what he is, no matter who, or at whatever social station he happens to be, if only to keep the conscience clear.

Additionally, regarding open minds, in my experience the commenters who most histrionically object to Marxist thinking, or even the contemplation of investigating Marxist concepts, are most likely to have never actually read much Marxist material. And in likewise fashion, the context around comments like..."pro-palestine punk who destroys property"...clearly implies that the commentator regards private property as being more valuable than people.

Who has the more questionable set of ethics now, if indeed they have any at all?

And lets also remember that Netanyahu himself has rendered the slur..."antisemitic"...null and void after he ordered the genocide of fellow Semites.

The world hears what conservatives say, and then we see what they do, and the incongruities are as plain as day.

There's a documentary titled " Bad Faith" on Prime that explores the rise of Christian Nationalism and how it has become the most powerful anti-democratic force in the US. Turning into a powerful weapon, they aim to promote an authoritarian vision, but Americans seem unaware of the threat, focusing on which of the two men they should vote for rather than their policies.

I'm recommending it to everyone. Research as much as possible. Educate yourselves. Don't listen to others. Don't be intimidated by those who result to insults.

Let your decision be based on what you learn not what you're told.
