For people in the US or UK who think this is not serious, the World Economic Forum released a report, neatly summarized here. That's 2.2 million deaths in the US, and 500 000 in the UK with no prevention measures.
For the mathematically literate, you might like to look at the curves even if measures are put in place. The total number are "only" halved, and these figures are based on the unproven assumption of a vaccine being found...

The United Nations branch responsible for public health around the globe urged people to verify the authenticity of anyone claiming to be from WHO. It also issued a list of questions and information the organization will never ask for.
The only request for financial support WHO has made, it said, was for people to give to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund. "Any other appeal for funding or donations that appears to be from WHO is a scam," the organization said.

No one actually is listening to the warnings, they're hearing it but its not penetrating through.
A week into schools shut down and non-essentials stores closed, people are more in the stores like never before, with their sick children coughing, sneezing, barefoot running all over looking at all kinds of non essential crap, you'd think its black friday ransacking clothes, makeup, shoes, bedding..feeding america's favorite past time, shopping!!
Another add to the stupid list, the mother has her face covered but not the kid, not that that actually protects anyone but the 'logic'..!!
a 5 yr old in the cart, keeps sneezing and the mom and grandma keep saying 'god bless you' and i'm thinking god is not gonna save you or that kid or me if you keep coming around cause you can't sit at home to read a book to pass the time.
an 11 yr old girl running barefoot all over and the mother in clearnace section looking for clothes, the kid comes back breathless, coughing, face red the mother giggles at tells her to go run another lap..and guess what, when the shit truly hits home and the kid or that mother get sick who will they blame?? the gov. the healthcare, the doctor, the hospital and china!!
