On a similarly sad vein, do any of you remember a young UK lad who committed suicide?

There was also a young guy that was a barter - and I can't remember his name.

Yes Mags, that was him. A very troubled soul.

Yes!   That's him. He used to message me about his poetry. He was a barber in London, I believe. Atomic knew him well. I'll get in touch with her.

Thanks!

Exactly. As bad as I feel about snugglebuck, I'm going to omit him go without an obituary or something indicating he's passed on.

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share a quick update on the curation project. We’ve now selected over 290 poems, and we’re planning a big push over the next two weeks to capture as many additional pieces as we can before DUP shutsdown.

A massive thank you to all the curators who’ve contributed countless hours of their spare time to make this project happen. There’s a lot going on behind the scenes to pull everything together... I know I can be very demanding, but truly, everyone is doing an outstanding job, and I’m so proud of the work we’re producing.

I also want to express my gratitude to everyone who has been nominating poems in the forum. Your suggestions are incredibly helpful, and it’s essential we have a diverse range of voices and styles represented. While we may not be able to include every nomination, every piece helps us shape the collection, and we’re not quite there yet in terms of hitting our target numbers, so please continue sharing!

At the moment, we’re particularly looking for more poems in the following categories:

- Anger
- Upbeat
- Observational
- Story Poems
- Fiction and Non-Fiction Prose

I’ll be setting up a thread for these categories shortly, so if you have any suggestions, feel free to jump in!

Thanks again for all your continued support and hard work... we’re getting closer to the finish line!

P.S. Webmistress, if you’re reading this, I hope you’ve had a chance to check your junk mail... just in case my email got lost!

Case there is no forum for Miscellaneous Poetry - is that intentional or an oversight ( if an oversight I can start a thread )? Danny has tons in that category and I just found one regarding Polish and Ukranian blood - I felt it very apropos for this time in history.

I excluded Miscellaneous because we had plenty of nominations, but we can always add more if there's more pieces to consider.

Hello everyone,

We wanted to share a quick update on the Deep Underground Poetry Anthology project as we head into the final stretch.

We’ve now selected over 250 poets and more than 400 poems for consideration in the anthology. Final inclusion will depend on space, permissions, balance, and how all the pieces fit within the anthology. The response so far has been awesome, and we're very grateful for the support and enthusiasm from the DUP community.

This coming week, the team will be working hard to finalise the curation and permission process, so if you haven’t yet responded to a permissions message, please check your inbox when you get the chance.

If you’d like to stay updated or be notified when the anthology is released, you can join the DU Poetry Preservation Project Group on Facebook or email me at thepoetscircle@gmail.com.

I know social media isn’t everyone’s thing [it’s definitely not mine either], so I’m currently looking into other ways to keep everyone in the loop, possibly a simple updates page or mailing list with no pressure to join Facebook. I’ll post an update here as soon as I’ve got something set up.

Just a heads up… this will be a long term project, and it could take up to 12 months to complete the editing, design, and publishing process. We’ll continue sharing updates along the way.

Also, I’ll be posting a pre-order link here in the forum later this week once that’s ready.

Thanks again to the amazing team, everyone who’s contributed and supported us along the way.

Thank you, I have just joined the FB group under my real name Michael Webb. I firmly declare I am not the same as the US writer who bills himself as "America's Romance Expert"!. I also declare I am not related to the English poet/novelist Mary Webb (lived 1881-1927) although we share a home county!
