Never mind the four legged kind with the hoof
Talkin' Beagles
Shi-Tzus
Assorted bow-wowsers
German Shepherds
And Barky Von Schnauzers
Lest ye forgets
The greatest chick magnets be pets
Next to the Vets
No, not the Double W Ones or Twos
And saviors with rescues
Sheltering helpless strays
Reforming their heltering skeltering ways
Mutts happy to slobber aways at your cheeks
Gone missing for days
Or even for weeks
Kicked to the curb
Dumped on their butts in the streets
For taking leaks on your carpets
By haters who treat animals like objects

we both been tired of the leash
should have burned pictures
changed my email address
fixed these loose floorboards
some time ago
but love
shaving
change
are ideas only used by those
who believe that the universe is a just place
that there is a god
and he is kind
forgiveness

as the dead eye

different colored cornea covering stare

a friend whose seen it all
when she peeps you gettin high
and jerkin off again
she sleeps still
soundly
with all my apologies
after killing the cat next store
and being slapped around a bit
in front of the neighbors
it's enviable
even after being scolded
to dance and play
chase toys
eat and wait for a treat
sit by my side
when both of them are bad
conscience may only come
posthumously
cuz i don't think either of us care right now
we'll never leave the house or yard again
never ask reasons why
reefer and bacon taste so good
we just agree that they do
some older ish but i wanted to use it.

It did not take her long to recognize,
My face, and to show she is glad,
Cause creatures like her don’t agonize,
And love further than humans understand.
She came strait to me with shinning eyes,
She jumped up on my knee and liked my hand,
I patted her and spoke to her no lies,
One of my best friends in this rough land!
It does not matter if I'm sick or healthy,
If I'm good looking, ugly, big or small,
It does not matter if I'm poor or wealthy,
It does not matter to this dog at all.
Her hair is wet, she's smelling of sea water,
I ask her where she's been and what she caught,
I could have done the same if it was hotter,
Just jump into the sea without a thought.
Canella! She must be more than eleven,
And still she roams all day on the beach,
I used to know her there when life was heaven,
And love could drive us out of our wits.
Her brown cinnamon spots in fine condition,
This little doggy is a friend of old,
She welcomes me according to tradition,
And then she goes inside cause she feels cold.
Oh, how the young pups can play,
They play and sleep through the day,
Not not in any hurry,
Not even a bit of worry,
Life for a dog is in the present,
That's what makes their life so pleasant,
No future, no past,
Now is now and forever it will last,
Why live in yesterday?
Today is okay,
Why live what's to come?
How is that any fun?
That is the philosophy of a puppy,
That's why they are so lucky,
Humans don't know how to live here and now,
That's why we should learn to say bow wow,
They play and sleep through the day,
