I see nothing out of the ordinary
not at first glance anyway, youth, and eyes
that may or may not hide secrets
best kept for when friends are real friends

I see pride in kempt, and plenty of time spent
lost in study, cos mammy and daddy
put all their hopes in you, so you do what you can
to appease them

I see you wear music from your ears
and the years have been ok to you
but most of all I see a person
just one of over seven billion just trying to get by
and if you really want to try make your mark
I see a big maybe

I was half in the bag and had ten bucks
you were broke; that particular poor.
College kid, eating Ramen. Cute broke.

My ten bucks is the first step
towards paying one/one millionth
of my debts, but my tomorrow's
far from promised, so barkeep,
set us up

I buy you a drink.

You study anthropology
and fancy yourself an empath.
My novelty intrigues you.
You don't think your slumming it

but you are.

I've read your books and know those quotes
that you love so dear
but I have callouses on my hands
curse a lot, and piss behind dumpsters.
It's easy to pretend that your teaching me
something profound. I found your vial of xanax
in the bathroom, and helped myself to the numb
that it will take to not laugh in your face

which is exquisite
when your mouth's
sealed shut.

At first glance

Beauty seeps into my soul
yet fear still resides
a different fear-
no longer am I afraid to speak
confidence boils up and I adore
"Your eyes I..."
but I falter
I can see now at second
that smile it's like mine
facade for show
and the pain of knowing someone's like me
is breaking me
I run from you
but then I fear that you'll think-
I'm back but without you the room's cold
at first I see you
at second I close hurt to see
at third I can't look
epitaph reads-
never to return

My daughter...
My sister...
My friend...
Your eyes scream and your tears are not distant. From shattered heartstrings they linger. As sure and pure as the dove that's held upon the slender fingers. The windows of your soul reveal the screaming child that hides deep in the shadows of your mind. Veiled by the angel's pale wings, she softly sings. To you, Daughter.

He knew at first sight
She was the one
Belonging to others
Connected by plight

Hearts grew founder
Time went by
Dreams and remembrance
Glances with wonder

Fait lends a hand
Through tratigy and courage
The boy gets the girl
And forever they stand

It was always fait
Meant to be
Paths that met
Forever souls mate.

It's not hard
When you search your heart
Everything is within
Search your soul
Open the eyes to your mind
Unfurl the wings of your spirit
Fly into your unknown
Flow thru emotions that swirls
Free yourself

see tht easy just take your time

There's a depth to her eyes.
A secret longing for real love
like a long, cool drink on a hot day.
"Someone please understand me,
I'm real, see what I'm about."

Misunderstood, yet easily pleased,
tears stifled in overstuffed pillows;
life at times a frustrated darkness.
Intuitive vision questions mortality,
"carry me then to realms unseen."

Love her please but don't hurt her,
that smile is not all sweetness.
There's so much more to this girl,
more than anyone will know;
and a scorpion's sting in her tail.
