The condemned hang in public gallows for all to see
Golden succulent sacrifices whose crackling skin
and moist warm fatty flesh will serve to sedate the
anticipation of those seeking resolution

Though the signs are hard to decipher
for those foreign to this oasis
the gateway is clear
We gather here seeking sedation of our most primeval needs

Pirouetting parasols punctuate the vapor providing protection from Grandfather Sun
I dance through however
as I seek the taste of the those richly braised braids of fowl
whose warm fatty morsels
melt in me
becoming me
Muting the world around me

Glass noodles of the sea bathed and revived in toasted sesame oil
chills my mouth and tickles my throat
I suck my tongue to savor every drop

Sweet ecstasy beckons now
A frozen Pandora's box
harbors treasures so rich the emperor's personal bodyguards should protect her doors

The frozen elixirs served within are ambrosia concocted to perfection

Poutine is Acadian slang
For a mushy mess
Best described as a
Heart attack in a bowl
The national food of Quebec
Invented in Warwick
Has the following recipe
French fries of medium thickness
Fried doubly so
The inside is soft
While outside is crispy
You must use pure lard
To get the unique taste
Add fresh cheese curds
The best come from Warwick
Fresh white cheddar cheese curds
Slightly smaller than bite size
The gravy should be thin enough
To filter down
Into the mass of the
Cheese and fries
The best gravy
Comes from Warwick
The gravy is very dark
Very thick, like molasses
Must be very very hot
Serve it up in a styrofoam bowl
Now you have tasted
Heaven on earth

You are obviously not from Quebec!
