Why I am not such a writer
I want to be a writer but cannot find the words.
Buzzing swarming elemental mess
flying round my head and in my heart
But trying to pin them on the page,
Well, lets just say
Its like trying to shout dragons out of the sky
while the world walks by with headphones on
carrying some mocha cappa fropa bean-beast.
While my land is filled more with cyborgs
drinking tea wearing monocles and proclaiming huzzah
Where humanity is diverse and unified
Where the wild punks roam and rub shoulders
with steam punk knights.
But writers seem to catch the zeitgeist train early,
And catch the modern masses feeling in jars
Thus writing for themselves and then many.
But I am no writer, I write for myself
Maybe one day someone will have tea with words and me...
I want to be a writer but cannot find the words.

Word Maze
Touching pen to paper,
worlds detach
and come undone.
I was and
now I am.
I can be,
and so I shall.
I am her,
I am him,
I am you,
I am them--
Poetry--
This expression,
this life,
this meaning,
this world,
these thoughts.
It's all I have,
it's one of the many things.
That keeps me alive
today,
tomorrow,
yesterday--
Here.
There-
Now-
Then.
This is the reason,
the reason I write,
stories--
poems--
prose--
& my life.
This is the tale
of a girl
like you,
like me,
like everyone
and like no one--
It's all the same.
My story
is somewhere,
lost inside the pages,
inside of a word maze.
Touching pen to paper,
worlds detach
and come undone.
I was and
now I am.
I can be,
and so I shall.
I am her,
I am him,

The Fire Within
Poetry is a friend and daily companion
Wandering freely in my vast dominion
Words of wisdom and compassion abound
Enlightenment for those homeward bound
Crooks fear not the blood but the ink
When suspected as a possible link
For every crimes anybody could commit
Heinous ones that would make you vomit
The pen is mightier than the sword
Those famous words strike a chord
From the most beloved man of yore
Wished he lived longer to share more
In the darkest hour of solitude and despair
Only love and soothing words can repair
Where were you when I needed you most?
I thought you're always ready at any cost
Poetry is the fire within my soul
Always burning without a toll
I never really paid any attention
Until I have written a collection
Words are this poet's only possession
Enriched with mystical obssession
Food for my thoughts in which I live
Suppress my voice, then poetry leaves

"And You Wonder Why I Write"
Steel fetters release!
I am free!
Quill feathers and ink
Supplying me
Feels better to be
Writing the means for reviving dreams
Freedom is what life sometimes make dying seem
I can be what I want
You can be what you want
I can see your potential
I'd be grieved if you don't apply yourself
I'd like to help those I can reach
Hide and seek with the trouble
Hide and seek with the drama
Trying to reach out to mothers getting weak from the struggle
Sweetie smile..
See that's another reason I write
To take away the tear so you can clearly see it's alright
It's alright..
I'm proud of you
Bound to move to new heights
I respect the fathers who stuck around to do right
For the kids
For the kids and again I repeat
I can see another change
Maybe pain is my teacher
Our teachers are needed quite more urgently now
Let us do it
Let us clean these communities up
Let us not judge the kids because it used to be us
But trust
We'll make a difference
I'm doing it for Kendrick
I like to write to fight the fight
And live in spite of our "limits"
Which have ended
I have to say I have to write to survive
If I didn't have a pen I couldn't affect any lives
If I couldn't help a friend I wouldn't like being alive
Honestly
If I really couldn't write I would die

A bittersweet poem about the trials and tribulations of writing: like a muse or dame that you adore but just won't answer your calls. Maybe a picture profile inspired that? Anyway, congratulations John and Madame Lavender.
