Thanks Atakti for a great competition!!! It has inspired me to write other sinister poems from the underbelly.

I also congratulate Missy and LobodeSanPedro for their great scribes. Your pieces were stand outs for me.

The secret to making time for poetry or any creative endeavour for that matter is basically sleep deprivation. From my calculations you can get by on approx. 2-3 hours sleep for about 4-5 days straight before you start to see any side effects e.g. drowsiness, excessive yawning, loss of appetite, alcoholism, paranoia, the boss emails you for the overdue report and asks you to stop snoring, your wife/girlfriend goes missing, caffeine doesn't work anymore, but random sex romps and masturbation are the only ways to stay awake, hallucinations of being surrounded by DU poets in shopping centres, waking up in the car in the middle of major intersections only to find the car keys are missing.... but apart from that and the sleep deprivation the sense of achievement is totally worth it and fucking rewarding.

Case

Thank you Psychic... Kings Cross is a very deep dark hole of a place, but inspiring place to hang out from time to time.

LMAO! I hear ya on this one Case - I spent quite a bit of time riding around town getting the shots I wanted for my read ... I had it in my mind to use video and not stills in my presentation but forgot to set the mute button when I was shooting so you could hear my motorbike as I was rolling through my Dark City ...

frustrating ... but totally worth the learning process ... Again great ink and reading on your part.

Thanks LSP. It was a solid comp. I actually thought you had in the bag after hearing your reading. I really like your style and the imagery you captured with your camera.

I think DUP is such a is a great arena for poets to grow and learn. I've just been blown away by the calibre of writers here. I look forward to pushing each other in the next challenge.

Congratulations case, it was a brilliant poem and reading. glad to see London won it as the darkest city, It's a small world, I live in Holloway. It's strange seeing poets from all the world and one that's from my neck of the woods.

Hey, it brings out the best in all of us.... in a fucked up kind of way. Unfortunately, often we're the only ones to see the benefits of making the most of every hour of the day.
