(Low Point)
late 1990's after my Mom died. I was living in a horrible apt.
No heat, hot water, gas leak, poorly insulated, mice in the walls, and noisy neighbors above me. I was really under weight. Low sugars.
Had walking pneumonia. About ready to lose my job due to the local buddy system if you know what I mean. Not what you know but whom....
Also in 2002 wrongfully accused spent 2 weeks in jail. Some woman lied and actually tried to send me to Cuba but they only believed her enough to send me to a local one near by.
High Point

Hi-Low
I've been high
different ways at different times
but in 99
I was flying and life was grand
Home was stable, my son
happy
Making a name for myself
we were laughing
Playing on the farm
gathering eggs
studying hard
hanging out with friends
But
I've been down too
too many times
down lower than a raindrop
dropped in sand
So low, in fact
that I'ts still unclear
I'm still not back
even when I'm here
Perhaps, one day
I'll remount that horse
For now I'll go on hoping
pleading...
life be short
I've been high
different ways at different times
but in 99
I was flying and life was grand
Home was stable, my son
happy
Making a name for myself
we were laughing
Playing on the farm
gathering eggs
studying hard
hanging out with friends
But
I've been down too
too many times
down lower than a raindrop
dropped in sand
So low, in fact
that I'ts still unclear
I'm still not back
even when I'm here
Perhaps, one day

For now I'll go on hoping

The Great Western Soul
Never knew why it was called
the Great Western Highway.
Just a long, lonely road.
For walkers like me, anyway.
It's been too long
since I've seen her.
Tears in her eyes,
words lost between us.
I didn't mean for this to collapse
Or lose her.
But I'll always remember
what she said.
It made sense then.
And it makes sense now,
on the road, the Great Western.
Cars and Trucks,
swiftly passing me by
There I go, a broken man.
Bag hanging
by one strap
my head bowed.
As the rain surrounds
me.
Still walking on
Western ways,
accompany western winds.
Great pains,
to lone souls.
As the highway it claims
Lone souls with forgotten homes
Sinking into my clothes,
becoming me.
My thoughts, they fade
even this pain fades.
I still hear my woman..
Her memory will never fade..
I've walked on for sixteen hours
through wind, rain and heat.
My skin, shivering
with the sullen winds..
Walking on,
the rain sways with wind
Roaring traffic,
casting tides of rain-water
I don't bother to avoid
Cracking thunder and peak hour traffic
ringing out in the night.
I don't deserve to go home,
as if home existed anymore..
Wandering on
aimlessly.
Without a care for past
or the here and now.
Every part of my being
begs for her touch
Later in the evening
Stretched out on a bus shelter chair
With a bottle of Jack.
Drinking not to the past
but to the future
To wherever I may go.
Never knew why it was called
the Great Western Highway.
Just a long, lonely road.
For walkers like me, anyway.
It's been too long

The highest point in my life? That's easy. Any time i have a bowl packed and I'm feeling good.
The lowest point? damn that's even easier. My life is a low point...

I vs You
I bet the long shot
you take the sure thing
I like to dance
you like to sing
I keep my things neat
you are a big slob
I'd give the shirt, off my back
you'd say "go get a job"
I am small
you are bigger
I brush things off
you pull the trigger
I gaze at the moon
you worship the sun
I like intensity
you like it fun
I like it rough
you take it easy
I like to sail
you get too queasy
I reach for your hand
you let me fall
I want, what is mine
you want "it all"
I caress your cheek
you slap my face
I stand up tall
you fall from grace
I like the night
you like the day
I want to leave
you make me stay
