Home is Lost

Home is lost, faded, gone.
I’m a perpetual guest, polite and alone

Old bonds tighten, secure and strong.
How I’d sought them, forged them,
fiercely shunning uncertainty.

The castle is now a keep,
with no key.

A window looks out to sea,
beckoning and holding
treasures unknown.

Time of Axis

Have you ever seen such an enigmatic crossroad?

Seemingly unrelated factors approaching with the moxy of bullet trains

The evolution of technology bursting like a ripe fruit and nearing speeds of free fall

Social conscience and consciousness unifying in circle of fluid communication

Outdated institutions applying a staunch death grip as a Gargoyle peering from a ruin decrepit

It becomes harder and harder for the executioner to keep the veil forced tightly upon visage

The truth searches to find the weakness of its container

The earth continues spinning

Containing within enough nuclear energy to suffice the ceremony of her own destruction

Peace and freedom from poverty and hunger are becoming ever more plausible

Though the Warmongers bite down as hard as ever

Sharp teeth to human bone

We will see if these factors dissolve in waters of compromise and hard work

Or if opposing momentum will be resolved
In the force of an explosion

Coffee tables soaked up the sun-shine memories
that we left behind in our hast to move forward,
your smile as bright as the moon on a cloudless night.
Meadows of stars swayed to diverse mystical complexities
of the universe, dust settling with a shift
in fates fragile dynamics.

Darting around oblivion, succumbing to the sirens
never-ending call, you were fading with the strain
of everyday; skin paper thin, eyes holding the
weight of the world.

You departed with minimal fuss, a chasm in your wake.
The decades that followed dragged their feet,
I don't remember who I am and the nights are always
teeming with clouds that form the lump in my throat.
Frown lines etch into my skull with every waking hour,
whilst my eyes stare into the face of death with
wooden indifference.

The dust has picked up again,
for the last time.

Canvas of Dreams

(My first and only painting of Adelaide)

"If a picture paints a thousand words,"
then why can't renowned sketch artists,
not even a Michael Angelo
could paint a portrait of you?

Painstakingly I paint you in my dreams
making sure I don't miss a single strand
of your long flowing hair, black as a night
glistening like reflections of the moon
on the silence of the silvery sea.

I'm neither a painter nor a poet
as you can see my painting came in a haste,
I had to do it quick before my chosen medium
dry up from my bleeding heart--
as bittersweet memories flash back,
to immortalize your pretty face
on my canvas of dreams
and in this DUP cyberworld...
I don't even know where to begin.

I may not have given justice to your Mona Lisa smile
everytime you had caught my fleeting glances,
and to your Japanese-looking eyes--
hypnotizing my soul for the very first time,
but for me it's the most beautiful portrait
one could ever paint - for it's only I,
who could paint my dreams...

Cigarette

Give me a ruse. Give me a need.
Such trifling desires are reserved for the weak. I’ll be weak for you.
I’ll sell my soul to feel you in me.
You’re an enigma.
Your Venomous leaves, your putrid embrace, your beacon ignites, glowing like fire.
Revitalizing.
Rivet me in your bluish gray mist. You bring order to chaos.
You spring hope in devastated hearts.
Sweet soldier of death you! Never leave me.
Your tests I will stand. Your torture I can’t resist.
My best friend.
My worst enemy.
Innocence in disguise.
Humble and kind.
Unrelenting misery cloaked in ecstasy. Lay upon me, euphoria I so crave for.
You will be the death of me. And in my death you shall become eternal.
The instrument of self destruction. You scream in silent agony.
Your horrid melodies pamper my senses.
You’ve gripped me so. I’m addicted to your madness, this hunger you chain me to.
A slave to you, forever. Release me never.
Yours truly.
