A great idea for a comp, Miki. Thanks for the opportunity!


It's morning again and beyond today I see no future written in my stars.
The cold rain inspires nothing more than the rigid reality of life’s icy flow.
My mind could use a sky unclouded with all its grey ugly stains washed away.
The world seems as far away as Disneyland. For me, the carnival’s over.
Maybe I'm just a tiny toad splashing about in an over-crowded pond.
Perhaps, I'll try to dissolve the layered depths of sorrow in life’s pre-written script.
Tomorrow will be a chance to escape and explore... life beyond the pond.

This was indeed a great idea for a competition; start everyone on the same foot and see who flies furthest. Hopefully a similar version can be repeated in the future, though not so soon as too spoil Mike's victory lap.
