as i look at you
as i look at you
i dont know what to do
i want to know your name
but at the same time i feel a blame

now that we are together
i need your advise
please dont say any lies

as i look at you
i continue wondering what to do
should i pray to keep being with you
or should i disside to die

This Deaf Dancer        (SP Summerscales)

Where do I go from here
how do I rid your fear
I answer
but nothing's clear
this deaf dancer
through the floor
can hear .

I feel every minute
all the seconds
that tick in it
just remember
I'm real
and from no one I steal
if it rolls I'm the wheel
and if nobody get's it
well I do
your magnetic
telecanetic
delectably , hectic
a comprehendable , sceptic
understandable , unhandable
loving , apathethetic

I drive myself mad here
going round
mental hemispheres
I know I'm not perfect
kind of glass or a perspex
breakable , flexible
clarity you just can't see
together we are sailing free
untethered , jocularity
heavy feathers are not
you and me
simply because
they just can't be
we endeavour in hilarity .

I pedalled a wipe out
in the street
a dogfight , invite
dinner nightmare
I wore white
the wrong thing to wear
what a night to frighten
the unscared
Horsefly bites
and wine we did share
outdoor delights
of drunken impaired
driving on the right
and you cut my hair
so I thought if I might
recall times
that we shared .

So in all the long
don't get me wrong
I hold your flame and I sing your song
as I sit here
you've nothing at all to fear
don't ever
not remember
this deaf dancer
through the floor
can hear .

What is love?

Love is more than a thing.
It be something we have for thy king.
Love in the waking life is non-existant
We often dont find love, so we alienate ourselves from the world.. making us distant..

Who is my mother then? she cares for me so..
That is not love, its care.. for love be not there
Love be temporary.. in the real world.. so why wait on that moment.. for that moment for two to share?

We love god.. Care for our neighbors.. for moments we have we can only saber..
But there is no such thing as love.. for being IN love is much greater.

We love the lord.. Care for the family..we tend..
We love christ.. care for the 3 kids.. and tend to the gardening fence..
We love for the king.. heaven we sing.. and dye with the friend we came to know..
for being IN love is REAL.. in the waking life which is much grander to FEEL.

i hear a voice inside my heart
telling me not to open my eyes
the real beauty is the heartless souls cry
as you look at me from the floor
i stare at you saying that your a hore
you say that you cant take it any more
as i open the door to my heart you lie
and tell me to die
i dont know if it love
or an angle from above
who well save me

you keep

fallen out of love

I am bored with love

and it's passionless limbs

that drape over my bed

in a lethargic state of impotence

while wearing the same red heart

my soul picked up hitchhiking

off highway serendipity

Now here we are

alone in togetherness

trying to build dreams

with two by fours and glue,

but even a home

won't tie us together

when our hearts live alone

Poetic vows cliched

into nothingness

like all words do, eventually

and we allowed

our bodies to become

another pair of hollow shadows

that make love to a wall

instead of each other

and we wonder why

the roses are dying

PROCLIVITIES REVERSED ON TENTERHOOKS
Huddled up impressions, when they actuate your appetite,
Only to discover diligence, short of being erudite,
Still kindred predilections strike a symphony and discord,
Albeit,to me obsequious, for I am their sovereign lord.

There might be some, teeming with appellations,
For others, value judgement, seems to settle the equations,
And though we merely have the opposite of what we sought,
Yet,I cannot forbear,to serve your food for thought.

Normative it is, with no rival thus far,
In earnest none, while in farce,a few, there are,
When Nikhil's squinting eyes rummaged through the myriad faces,
Immobilized at one, hallowed by the three Greek Graces.

Blessed beauty and charm, both in a face did converge,
Unmindful though he was of the distant dirge,
Minacious, mournful, mellifluous!the melody did escape his care,
As he boarded the barge of sentiment, oblivious of the fare.

When he met her at first, necessary civilities followed,
Still something there was, that needed to be swallowed,
Besides,a few more exchanges that formed contrived conversations,
The discharged pool of emotions, that stirred his innermost stations.

A welcome change it was, greeted with ecstasy,
Invading the territories,of dream, thought and fantasy,
Curiosity put to rest, that haunted him all the same,
When epiphany echoed,"Hark! for Diya is her name."

At New Delhi, did they meet, with everything at leisure,
The influx of dialogues that precipitated mutual pleasure,
Someone like Ram,is what Diya longed for,in life,
Who could privilege, principle over profit notwithstanding the strife.

Nikhil, however, would choose the irrevocable parental design,
A bucolic lass arranged, for whom he would never pine,
There emanated, all the same,a furtive propensity reciprocal,
Contesting to come to surface, striving to become vocal.

After, much discourse, they had to part at last,
The act unhurried, with rumination running fast,
But not before the confession that Diya had to make,
"You are today's Ram";for Nikhil,an icing on the cake!

Late that night,Diya, put her mental faculties in motion,
Drinking the draughts,of her experience's magical potion,
Realized, however, that Ram,not only favored principle over profit,
But,also,duty over desire,discarding expedience,altercation and wit.

Reckoning could conjure up,images of imminent future bleak,
The degree of affections strong, the prospects of reification weak,
What entailed, thus, was a wild chase of opportunity cost,
Optimizing what could be gained, rebuking what would be lost.

Fixed in intent and purpose,Diya,to Nikhil, did propose,
Not for the initial inclination,if that's what you suppose,
For unrequited it would be and hence the next alternative,
Would you be my brother Nikhil, for sisterly love I'll live?

Left at the crossroads, with a choice to exercise,
Could he make one,as can be deemed wise?
Unbridled desire leading to mayhem, anarchy and mess,
Duty,could however,indemnify for it,never the less.

Besides,Diya, unworthy of Nikhil,is still an understatement,
Nowhere near to Sita, unfit for his Easter and Lent,
For she ran with the hare, and hunted with the hounds,
Outshining in mere beauty, overshadowed on other grounds.

Little, then, did he care,to answer in the affirmative,
The seat of felicity regained, the volition becoming native,
Marginally short she fell, even in his scruples for a sibling,
But,humility, innocence and simplicity did,all vices and follies sting.

Correlative tendencies, thus transposed, designated an inverted itinerary,
Invariably incumbent was the cognitive choice, bereft of what you see,
Not considerate for comeuppance, then,he restrained rejection without worry,
And acquiesced albeit she wasn't,even half as good as he.

Not the typical "love" poem, but still one of my favorites that I've written.

The Purest of Emotions

Love.
Relative to some,
but for others,
it is scorned.
Some will love,
and keep loving,
even if it is not returned.

Some will harden themselves to love,
never feeling the purest of emotions.
Some will shut themselves off from
what they could have,
something so innocent, so genuine
that the mind cannot comprehend.

Will you turn away from true love?
Will you walk away from someone who
hols you highest in their heart,
someone who will die fro you,
hurt for you, cry with you.
Or will you embrace what you so
very much deserve;
live the life waiting in store for you
to embrace.

The Love I never had

Full magic blows the incessant chant
of wants and needs unrequited
Love begin at a step where one
clap with one hand
the sound unheard
I  beg a kiss not mine to take
I pledge a love you never wanted
I beg a life you could not give
Yet you gave you caved
in to my incessant discordant whine
You left in the night a year ago
a letter on your pillow
"I never wanted you, you know
I love another from the start
She left for life beyond my ken
so I took you, second best
Now she returns and want me back
There be I before dawn breaks"
My heart screamed falling into the abyss
of despair
Within these padded walls
My soul do crawl
Dead except for its low hurt growl

Lingering

Here, tonight, lingering
I feel your presence:

kisses burn where lips pout
and I taste our collision,
though your mouth has never graced mine.

Illusory hands and flesh adore me
electric trills coursing ignite:
shivering I reach out
across a hemisphere of longing

steel wool whispers reaching
across dreamtorn sleep.
My animus embraces your magnus.

I am content tonight,
sleeping within your savage refuge,
snuggling through the phone lines
as your breathing canonizes myth.
