Poetry Contest Description
Pick a French form you like or what you want to give a go at.
I've noticed that I enjoy French form, Villanelle being my favorite so far out of the forms I've tried and read; I have not read or tried all.

Counting Sheep
I asked if I could count the sheep,
they like to scatter up the hill.
I run quick step to take a peep
and find a place to lie quite still,
could see the flock beyond the mill.
I spot the new born wagging tails
and watch the rutting baby males.
A fox runs out, the bleating starts
I scramble fast on sod and shale,
he nears the lambs but hears my bark.
they like to scatter up the hill.
I run quick step to take a peep
and find a place to lie quite still,
could see the flock beyond the mill.
I spot the new born wagging tails
and watch the rutting baby males.
A fox runs out, the bleating starts
I scramble fast on sod and shale,
he nears the lambs but hears my bark.

Aspects of autumn (A rondel)
A webs spun dew, it's droplets glint
fractions, of longer nights and shorter days
the spider waits within it's treaded maze
autumn's burnished glow, never indistinct
The year is ageing, needing pills and liniment
fall, a golden palette, proudly now displayed
a webs spun dew, it's droplets glint
fractions, of longer nights and shorter days
Thumb it's nose, to winters cold inheritance
with serenity, of just captured grace
in peace and calm, not misbehave
the spider waits, no need to sprint
the webs spun dew, its droplets glint
fractions, of longer nights and shorter days
the spider waits within it's treaded maze
autumn's burnished glow, never indistinct
The year is ageing, needing pills and liniment
fall, a golden palette, proudly now displayed
a webs spun dew, it's droplets glint
fractions, of longer nights and shorter days
Thumb it's nose, to winters cold inheritance
with serenity, of just captured grace

the spider waits, no need to sprint
the webs spun dew, its droplets glint
