The Theory of Everything
https://youtube.com/watch?v=55885Qnt7Ps
"I think we have a good chance of surviving
long enough to colonize the solar system."
~ Stephen Hawking
The alchemy of
modern physics rests
in general relativity—
the gravity of understanding
a Universe at large:
galaxies, clusters, stars
all holding position;
and, quantum mechanics—
smaller scale being:
sub-particles, atoms, molecules
electromagnetic forces
occupying form
The two are incompatible
within a diminutive scale—
planckions of tiny black holes;
and an initial Big Bang
Deeper frameworks of reality
must be discovered
to harmoniously integrate
both into a unifying
Theory of Everything
Stardust drifts in our bones—
atoms, sub-atomic particles:
neutrons, protons, electrons
vibrating musical strings
of gravitational mergings—
creating, and re-creating
our bodies over and again
throughout lifetimes
until fully fused as ONE—
tearing assunder the veil
we so long believed separated
infinite and unknown
dimensions between us

Wallpaper Dreams
Creed: my sacrifice
https://youtube.com/watch?v=O-fyNgHdmLI
She cracks through
a crepe-paper husk of fragile memory;
her fragments scatter
where glass water shatters,
every color in her image.
My one true eye sees her --
recalls in an instant coming alight
and how she was my candle drowning
in a dream as the band played on
all the while to her tribute.
I never left her there where
she broke through my fractured skin
to remain; burned, branded
as I grew old --
I am only young where she still is.
I give myself up in pale patinas
on crevaced blank pages uncrinkled,
the story never penned there --
but I can be relinquished in her
to stay buoyant;
partly obscured, partly ending,
never believed.
I rise with her sloshing tide
and in her wake, I'm free.

Jackie,
Thank you very much for such a terrifically fun competition. The rules did take me out of my comfort zone but in such a fun, unexpected and exciting way. I'm appreciative that you felt something win worthy in my entry.
Thank you 🙏
Congratulations to Ahavati and Eerie for their beautiful entries, so very well deserved.
To all who entered, I loved reading every interpretation with each accompanying music selection. It was so refreshing and wonderful to experience all the lovely and talented variety.

Thanks, Jackie for hosting this mind stretching comp. It was fun to try writing from a completely different perspective.

Great competition, Jackie! I was hoping to enter, but too much Life got in the way. Congrat to Blue for the win! And well done Ahavati and Eerie!

Well, I must say that I am floored by this placement; seriously. I am a film score junkie who believes music is the greatest ingredient of a movie or documentary because of its ability to open alternate senses to seeing. Music IS vibration, and vibration is energy connecting all things. So to me, this competition was connecting the essence of music to the essence of science, the latter being something many don't relate to as being spiritual ( or, relate to at ALL, so wasn't sure how it would go over ).
I believe spirituality can be deeply scientific on a structural level—a miracle, actually. And the placement thrilled me that you connected with it!
Thank you for such a challenging comp, Jackie. You always make them fun as well. Congratulations to Blue and Eerie, as well as all entrants. I really enjoyed your offerings and the different perspectives to the musical selections. xo
