Many thanks for all entries. I did not have to resort to google, which was pleasant surprise.
Layla. (...Virgina Woolf). Play is favourite of mine. The film stars Burton & Taylor, actors always to leave a swooning impression. You capture in a single written breath all the play beholds.
Miss Sub. (Antichrist). Not easiest film to compress into succinct string, but somehow, in my humble opinion, the essence is snared in a clever & animalistic literary trap.
Ahavati (Shipping News). Poem stands on its' own as testament to ripping emotions love can deliver. I like how Jack awakens from 'death' at end. Metaphor with quite a punch.
(Wicked) Those winged monkeys frightened me to death as a child. Pretty much nailed the perennial contrast of good/evil in few words. (Hard Days Night) Live very close to Scouse Land, so the Beatles always have connecting cultural references for me.
Uma's poems are non-entries for competition purposes. The aesthetic beauty of Tamil scripture alone Is something I would gladly wear on my skin! You know....

Johnny, Ahavati, ty and I must say the way you captured The shipping news, you left me in awe.
