Iris

The lone iris,
sitting in your eye;
a setting sun
eclipsed
by the blackness
of the world you see.
Those eyelids;
tear-rain shutters.

Icy Reminiscence

Mirrors within your eyes…
Stare tranquilly in ice.
Those fog risen lids…
stilled moments echoing.

Frozen they are…
seasoning affection
nowhere near
to thaw tearcicles.

Your Hue

Dim green,
that's what you wore.
A dye,
finely concentrated
to stain
the center gem
within
your eye.

This Spartan Summer Brings

Bee's brittle sting
Makes stunning heart,
Deft tying string
With Greco art.
Leaving a place
For me to find,
Turning your face
Reading my mind.

I Autism

Blinded by obsessions
Overtaking senses
World means nothing now

A kind of addiction
Endorphins sky high
Won’t be back soon

I Autism (pt2)

The noise of incessant talking
Can’t concentrate
It’s like being hit by a taser

The pain is constant
Like the streaming words
Need to shutdown

Vintage Handkerchiefs

What tales they tell—
tears they’ve caught,
whispers overheard, cigarette
ashes from bygone times
when white gloved hands were
of fashion.

I’m now their keeper.

Three Said “Edith”

My world melted
when three kerchiefs
revealed the name “Edith”

Sewn in, decades ago—
someone else with Grandmother’s name,
gave me a hug from heaven.

Linen Prep

Delicate handkerchiefs, hand
washed in Fels-Naptha—
I place them in the sun to dry.

My vintage wood rack, once more
in service to laundry.

GOLD

Miners mine nuggets
They risk everything
Working tirelessly bringing
Black gold to the surface

The same is true
When attempting to write
Truly original poetry

Vega’s Promise

How the stars are enchanting
On the moonless nights
I find my self captivated
By the endless show of lights

I dream of taking a timeless trip
Where stardust can be found
Across the river in a rocket ship
To meet my princess of the sky

As the seventh moon fades
The seventh night becomes alive
I’ll cross a heavenly bridge
For tonight our love will survive

Love...

... is when you tell me I'm still beautiful...
after all these years...

Love is when I hear you speak...it...
brings me to tears...
