Poetry Contest

PICK YOUR ANIMAL
In this competition, I'd like to study all's inner animal. What animal makes you , you .

So to make this interesting, the first thing I would like you to do is pick the emotion you are more then the first letter of that emotion pick your animal.

For example sad = shark
Depressed = deer etc. now it don't have to be a common basic animal like bears , frogs, dogs, you can put a name of a creature like sea spider, or whale shark, rose sawfly, or fire ant. So this way you have a more huge choices of animals, creatures or even insects out there. Think creative and study an animal carefully. Just one entry per person so choose wisely. Once you pick your emotion and creature or insect, then write how your emotion relates to the creature or insect you chose you are and why. Explain why your emotion and why that animal and how it is in you.... It can be a poem or a short story. Anything from sad to funny or scary. But explain why in the write, be specific and creative and fun.

The Nostalgic Nightingale

Perched on a withering branch
The nightingale sings a melancholic song
With a voice that remembers the past
Like echoes of spring from long, long ago
As the wind stirs amidst the trees
The nightingale sings a despondent tune
A winged memory of open blue skies
Now painted with a little more gloom…
But at night the nightingale sits in silence
Warm in the nest looking up at the stars
While the wind whispers amidst the trees
And leaves fall gently on the ground
The little bird reminisces of times
Of days lived and laughed and gone
Of love found and lost and longed
Filled with nostalgia
That bears the weight of time
