Hatful-of-Hollow said:Concept of United States of Europe was first mooted back in 14664, now is the time to dismantle NATO. Leave Trump to his desire for Ukrainian minerals and Gaza golf courses, I'd love to take the drugs of any socialists or Marxists(of which I am not one) who perceive Donald as the great peace-keeper. Fair play to Zelensky for not being mugged off, but in reality, he's signed the death certificate for his nation.
How many people could have pointed Ukraine on a map? Same goes for those who think Wales is part of England.
Some would rather die than live under an authoritarian like Putin. I am sure Zelensky didn't make the decision on his own. He merely announced it. Trump is nothing but a grifting opportunist, making money where and when and off whoever he can. Especially the downtrodden.

Presidents Zelensky and Trump
'M'AKE A DEAL OR WE ARE OUT!'
TRUMP AND VANCE TELL OPPORTUNIST ZELENSKY EXACTLY HOW IT IS.
In their continuing efforts to prevent the conflict in the Ukraine escalating into one of nuclear proportions, President Trump and Vice-President J D Vance today in the White House slapped down the political gameplaying of the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, and told him exactly his position. Especially notable was their emphasis on the continuing pointless deaths of hundreds of thousands of conscripted Ukrainian working-class soldiers whom Zelensky has thrown and continues to throw into the mincing-machine of war.
Highlights of the meeting
Zelenskyy: What kind of diplomacy, JD, are you are asking about? What do you mean?
Vance: I’m talking about the kind of diplomacy that’s going to end the destruction of your country.
Zelenskyy: Yes, but if you …
Vance: Mr President, with respect, I think it’s disrespectful for you to come to the Oval Office and try to litigate this in front of the American media. Right now, you guys are going around and forcing conscripts to the frontlines because you have manpower problems. You should be thanking the president.
Zelenskyy: Have you ever been to Ukraine to see the problems we have?
Vance: I’ve actually watched and seen the stories, and I know what happens is you bring people on a propaganda tour, Mr President.
Do you disagree that you’ve had problems with bringing people in your military, and do you think that it’s respectful to come to the Oval Office of the United States of America and attack the administration that is trying to prevent the destruction of your country?
Zelenskyy: First of all, during the war, everybody has problems, even you. You have nice solutions and don’t feel [it] now, but you will feel it in the future.
Trump: You don’t know that. Don’t tell us what we’re going to feel. We’re trying to solve a problem. Don’t tell us what we’re going to feel.
Zelenskyy: I am not telling you, I am answering …
Vance: That’s exactly what you’re doing …
Trump, raising his voice: You’re in no position to dictate what we’re going to feel. We’re going to feel very good and very strong.
Zelenskyy tries to speak.
Trump: You right now are not in a very good position. You’ve allowed yourself to be in a very bad position. You don’t have the cards right now. With us, you start having the cards.
You’re gambling with lives of millions of people, you’re gambling with world war three and what you’re doing is very disrespectful to this country.
Vance: Have you said thank you once?
Zelenskyy: A lot of times.
Vance: No, in this meeting, this entire meeting? Offer some words of appreciation for the United States of America and the president who’s trying to save your country.
Zelenskyy: Yes, you think that if you will speak very loudly about the war …
Trump: He’s not speaking loud. Your country is in big trouble. No, no, you’ve done a lot of talking. Your country is in big trouble.
Zelenskyy: I know, I know.
Trump: You’re not winning this. You have a damn good chance of coming out OK, because of us.
Zelenskyy: We are staying strong from the very beginning of the war, we have been alone, and we are saying, I said, thanks.
Trump, speaking over Zelenskyy: You haven’t been alone … We gave you military equipment. Your men are brave, but they had our military. If you didn’t have our military equipment, this war would have been over in two weeks.
Zelenskyy: I heard it from Putin in three days.
Trump: It’s going to be a very hard thing to do business like this.
Vance: Just say thank you.
Zelenskyy: I said it a lot of times.
Vance: Accept that there are disagreements and let’s go litigate those disagreements rather than trying to fight it in the American media, when you’re wrong. We know that you’re wrong.
Trump: You’re buried there. Your people are dying. You’re running low on soldiers. No, listen … And then you tell us, ‘I don’t want a ceasefire. I don’t want a ceasefire. I want to go and I want this.’
Trump: You’re not acting at all thankful. And that’s not a nice thing. I’ll be honest, that’s not a nice thing.
All right, I think we’ve seen enough. What do you think? Great television. I will say that.

As an American, I’m ashamed of the arrogance of Donald Trump & JD Vance. A meeting between President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the Oval Office on Friday grew contentious, with Trump telling Zelenskyy that "you're not acting at all thankful" for the support his country had received from the United States, saying the Ukrainian leader had been disrespectful, and telling him, "you're gambling with World War III."
Zelenskyy came to Washington to sign a deal that would give the United States access to Ukrainian rare earth and critical minerals. Trump said the leaders would sign it at an afternoon event at the White House.
It was nothing but a bait trap to attempt to bully Zelensky into getting what they want. This is the patriarchy at its absolute worst. Nothing new for felon 47.
Slava Ukraine.

Lest the ignorant have forgotten. I called this patriarchal white supremacy bullshit from day one. Christian Nationalism too.
Last night was a bait trap so that Trump could create a pretext for not only abandoning Ukraine but also disengaging from NATO.

A patrol inside a subway station in Kyiv checks the conscription status of men of fighting age
CONSCRIPTION IN THE UKRAINE
To boost Ukraine’s army, feared patrols hunt for potential conscripts
So many people in both Europe and the US are willing to fight to the last drop of blood for the Ukraine – to the last drop of anyone's blood, that is, provided it's not their own.
The deaths of hundreds of thousands of conscripted working-class soldiers of both the Ukraine and Russia means nothing to those warmongering idiots; the grief of hundreds of thousands of parents in both the Ukraine and Russia whose children come home in a body bag means nothing to those warmongering idiots as they swallow the propaganda of the MSM and wave their spears in the air.
STOP THE WAR!
END THE KILLING!
RUSSIAN TROOPS OUT!
NO TO NATO!

You're most likely correct - but it won't silence the voices. JD Vance is apparently skiing in Vermont this weekend, and the locals aren’t having it. Thousands have lined the streets in protest.

Or flee to undisclosed locations. . . Americans are waking up, including former "MAGA". You can't continually diss blue states and then expect to vacation in one with welcome arms because you're the VP. You lay with dogs you get up with fleas.

It seems to be theres a cycle of of who gets in office. Like Bush jr started phoney wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and that pissed everyone off then it was Obama (iirc) and people seemed to worship him but he allegedly approved a heap of drone strikes in all those other little "liberation campaigns" but that was ok?
its also gone Clinton (dem) Bush (rep) Obama (dem) then trump? (rep) then biden (dem) then trump again.
Its a nice little mind game, everyone gets fed up and resorts to the only choices you're given
(Same here too).
I'm not trying to start anything, this is just conversation to me.
I know more about American politics than Australias, which isn't heaps but our politicians are the dullest cardboard cutouts, they say things then don't do them then tell us what we want (I personally hate being told whats happening with my time) , then don't answer any actual questions (if they get push back or criticism) they become blithering idiots but can perfectly articulate their expectations of us and "their" plans (their handlers plans really).
I ramble, I know.
I like Americans but I'm pretty sure your country is a social experiment.
I'm not trying to offend you at all, I just say stuff.

Theatre for the masses my friend.
Also Australia was set up a social experiment.
People don't want to do the work on themselves and take personal responsibility. They would rather appeal to an authority figure.

Yeah i know, every country is.
Fragmented parts of the plan roll out slowly as a means of socially engineering a population directly or indirectly in a "X country does/has (certain thing) and they're not complaining/dead" way.
You can't trust people seeking power, there's no altruistic motivation. If they do something you don't like, too bad you gave them the "authority" they can make sure it remains unchallenged.
