.. and soft the curtain falls

He holds her close and kisses her,
he's nothing left to say,

then turns around in deep despair
and sadly walks away.

Blessings
...he was kind and attentive but I was afraid of being hurt, commitment was scary. My mother stayed through thick and thin, physically and mentally abused by my father ...have you seen this sort of relationship and wished you could do something about it?

she thought of many blessings
she encountered along the way
unexpected friendships and kindness
that truly brightened her days

the helping hand strangers extended
when problems seemed to dwell
caging her in an invisible pound
with  the sounds of her own fear

you are a blessing too
in your own delightful way
with your ink and poetry
dove-tail into my Maya way

You fly through cascades of thoughts
creating galaxies with words
and an ethereal world of another Us
thank you for your presence

Coda: Lunar

He sadly walks away, not looking back,
and tries to get to where he was before
he met her on this winding poem's track,
before he came upon her Blue-Sand Shore
and sailed with her across a sparkling sea
to her romantic garden of delight
then danced with her beneath that Linden tree
throughout that long and love-enchanted night.
And, though it's hard to bear, she fades away,
her phoenix eyes no longer haunt his mind,
and then the dismal gloomy hopeless day
begins to seem a little less unkind.
But she comes flooding back at nights, and soon,
when looking up he sees her in the Moon.

(Fret not, fair maiden. I'll write about a cup of tea or something tomorrow. I do enjoy a good tragedy, though, and I've always liked that song🙃)

Grace's Life's Journey

over mountains through valleys deep
under shadows where secrets sleep
finding joy in morning light
facing adversaries fierce or slight

dancing with the wind with heart aglow
climbing the peaks looking down below
going down the valley where wildflowers grow
storms may come path twisted and bend
but every path a poem penned

Happy smiles on sunlit days
quiet strength when happy strays
journey on through rough and bright
In gentle acceptance, she embrace the night

Living on through thick and thin
this Grace so used to loss, less win
her life is written in both shadows and light
a challenge in the outside
... and here a great adventure
🌹😏😎
No worries... when the Muse comes you will write of Cabbages and King's... blue sands oysters walrus and carpenters😁😆📝🎶☕
This is a lovely song...

Because I'm Nice and Wouldn't Hurt a Fly 🙃

A fair amount of time among the hills
inhabited by sheep and lambs he's spent
on slippery verticals, in search of thrills,
and often seeing wooly sheep has meant
he's come to see them less as simply meat
and more as living creatures with a life,
not things to kill and serve upon a plate,
not things to die beneath the butcher's knife.
So, years ago a vegan he became;
he gave up eating flesh and fowl and fish,
he turned his back upon that cruel game
and vegetables are now his favourite dish.
And, yes, he does enjoy a Ruby Murray,
but nothing dead you'll find in our boy's curry. 🙃

Rainbow Girl
..a tale my own shaman grandmother told

long ago in the times of yore
when earth was young and pure
lived a girl with her shaman grandmother
in a village far away from the others

strange with yellow hair and white skin
pink green eyes thought to be a product of sin
parents left her and went far away
to live life anew away from her

she was fey and saw them all
little people, spirits and rainbow folks
her grandmother knew she was special
to one day inherit her shamanic gifts

..albinism was unknown then and thought to be product of interactions between spirit beings and humans

Gifts

gifts of second sights
and six senses
healing hands and touches
given to keepers
of wisdom garnered of generations
bestowed on them
to carry on down the line
the incantations are still remembered

...tribal Norms still exists but one wonders how long more, with interest waning

(The Maiden☝️🙃)

One for You, Grace. 👒

Like rain that falls on scorching days,
like comfort comes to one who prays,
as home appears to one who strays,
so gifts are found in different ways.
As when just like a dancing flame
a woman sudden from nowhere,
with poet mind and raven hair,
an answer to an unasked prayer,
appears and nothing is the same,

and then there comes a feeling, strong,
and soon she's heard in every song,
for melody and she belong
to every hour the whole day long,
then in the verses that we write
about a million different things,
on inspiration's silver wings
she flies and sweetest poem sings.
To dance with her is pure delight.

If the old traditions are dying away, perhaps you should try to keep them alive, or at least record them, by writing about them.  You could even put a collection together and get it published. I'd be happy to help, if you did. Give it a go. You have loads of material there for poems. 📜📜📜

Song of the Raven
...beautiful song. Poetic too. Trying to catch the wind, made me ponder on life and living

in the last twilight's gasp
before dark shadows play
illusion dance within a snap
before all turn grey

bright light with embrace slip away
dreams made so brightly and bold
illusions so sweet, it flits and flutter
warmth of words but whispers cold

the song of the Ravens secrets deep
tangled thoughts in welcoming arms
corona of the stars that makes her weep
gone with the wind faded charms

elusiveness of a fleeting ghost
illusions behind pearly curtains
with each smile and kisses a tale unfold
visions clear within a story told

...I have published a few books on our taboo and supernatural beliefs. Fictionalised for fun reading...

The Song of the Robin  🙃

The Robin with his flaming breast of red
remains defiant to the Winter's blast.
He stands and fights when other birds have fled,
a feathered warrior, his role is cast,
and like a burning coal against the snow
upon the ground he'll warm a watcher's heart,
who'll cheer him on for choosing not to go,
despite the threat of Winter's icy dart.
But Winter raging in its cloak of white
will try to kill him, want to see him slain,
so all the world can feel its icy bite –
then hopeful Spring will never come again.
The Robin has to win! He must survive
to keep the burning spark of Spring alive!
