Mother of Pearl Moon
a song by And Also The Trees a band who I have been following through out time. I can easily say they are one of my all time, life long favorite bands due to the enormous amount of atmosphere in the songs, the poetry of Simon Huw Jones and the guitar playing of his brother Justin.
Of course all musicians are regarded equally though the Jones brothers are the heart and hearth of the band.

Song lyrics ,

green lamps hung from branches dead
feathers in the head drift
o mother of pearl moon
and the spring flowers turning
the courtesans in their rooms
preening dressing undressing
dusk falling

broken light on the black water
still apricot trees outlined alive
as time lines behind it
and we see their blue sachets
wave like sails

your subtle mind
like a cats in the night
threading softly around me
tangled locks of your jet black hair

the courtesans in their rooms
turn their delight

with the mother of pearl moon
(all rights reserved to the artists)

Here is the idea
Create a subtle romantic text or poem themed as the moon
You can use the song as an inspiration
minimum of 50 words
I would prefer longer writes
but if you dont write long pieces then 50 ish is the deal
read 50 ish not 40 ish though
title your works
new poetry only
no explicit work or AI poetry
co writes are welcomed

have fun
bright blessings

The Vesperings

What a marvelous thing the world seems;
such copious frondescence in the breeze
screening sunsets by cedar dangle gleams
and crescent Luna filtered though the trees
in her twilit west horizon descent...
ever brighter in each degree she drops
like a hallowed blade meant to circumvent
the gentle Zephyrs in the arbor tops
teasing the rudbeckias and borage
and wagging all the oregano stalks
in the soil of their herbal moorage
amid the foxgloves and the hollyhocks
and in and around the ripening plums
or the blueberries and love lies bleeding
by the rhubarb and the chrysanthemums
and dry clover earnestly re-seeding...
which lonely, lonely Luna, cannot do...
because skies there are black, instead of blue.

Moon

He held the long arch of an embrace
White light of skin
pocketed by exhaustion
(He had shined such a very long time)

Pocketed pale blue

He held in his grasp a question mark
He kept under his thumb an elipses
...
Answers not spoken loud enough
To wake the sleepers
But filled with context
...

Enough said

Far from casting out delusions
He kept them in the mirror
Reflecting a light
That withered in the Sun

He held the Gold
For tug of war
And the seas came crashing
in Huzzah!

His face was minted
On old currency
Time

And time again

A Different Light

https://tinyurl.com/4ztxcbhu

The moon and me we go way back
high fiving at four am
while shooting stars keep doing their thing
we're chilling in the moment loving everything

And for that moment I forget life's fickle winds
and quit my worrying over women's rights
dirty wars men make and wasted lives
of god's forsaken children

I see the world in a different light
where every wrong becomes a right
with no thought for revenge, or a way of life
that makes no sense

And even though it makes me sick
we're always our worst enemy
waiting to sneak on in, so, so quietly
before we pull off our next trick

How I wish our heroes would take us
Mend us and make us whole
to be all we can be
But maybe it's too late now
to change the things
our children have to see

Seeing the world in a different light
where every wrong becomes a right
with no thought for revenge, or a way of life
that makes no sense to me

How I wish our heroes
would take us mend us
and make us whole
to be all we can be
But maybe
it's too late now
to change the things
our children have to see

Seeing the world in a different light
where every wrong becomes a right
with no thought for revenge
or a way of life that makes no sense
makes no sense to me

Hope the moon is listening
I know she understands
We never meant such heartache
it was never in our plans

Just two old friends
high fiving at four am
watching shooting stars
doing their thing
we're chilling in the moment
loving everything

chilling in the moment
loving everything

Seeing the world in a different light
where every wrong becomes a right
with no thought for revenge
or a way of life that makes no sense
makes no sense
to me

Darkness around the Moon

there is darkness around
the wan moon
silver light shimmery
through dark clouds

there is an evil smell
a foul smoky presence
smell of death
and pure fear

they are chanting
beneath the silvery moon
calling the name
of the spirit of the night

they slash her neck
stilling her scream
with a powerful thud
scattering her blood

they offer the magenta
to the greedy soil
undulating in joy
with the warmth of blood

beneath the sod
the dark one rises
a breaking of the soil
a reaching of the sky

evil rises triumphant
towering above the worshipers
who's hearts are stopped
in extreme fear

the scream of derisive laughter
echoed throughout the land
as worshipers die
without their claim to greatness

evil is and always
present without coercion
with blood and sacrifices
humans are fools

there is darkness
around the moon
it will always be there
now and forever after

no summonings.

hung like ripe fruit

something about the moon tonight
walking this sandy shore
twinkling reflections off waves
the same as every time before

it’s hung in the same spot
big and bright and full
it’s silvery shadow washing ashore
a pirates sparkling jewel

I could let sail this sea shell
and hit it I truly do believe
but distance and true love
are not as close as I’d perceived

ROMANESQUE

Oh, Selene
Mother of silver
Aback riverboats; dew-laden coats
Unlike the austere sun
Your light, my heart had won

A night emblazoned
Of wanton and mystique
Both cherished here
The Romanesque and bleak

A coin for passage
Sky lights fold over into applause
Her clouds ever-changing as the moth
Behind the veil
My eyes witness the true beauty
Of rooms without walls

Irreverance

Its brittle gleam
and floats in the grey seas night
offered up my heart as sacrifice
 while dressed with clouds pristine

With poetry struck dumb
starlight awed, candelabra dimmed
royalty, its icy halo specters whim
mirror in the crystal lake
so far from each hum-drum

Cresting or` the snowy peak
hid behind the clouds, discreet
a challenge cast, the reapers needs
to light old valor and new seeds

Cuts to the core of tempered steel
set to rise, wax and wane proclaim
etching with its rays of cream, surreal
 captured all in its domain

Glinting, shines its light on everyone
bend, drop your pants and show your bum.
