Poetry Contest

Using "Windblown" as a prompt. A poem of nature with 10 lines or less. Non erotic, and please, no AI
Not for the comp.

Windblown, through a garden of leaves
earth and the towering trees
becoming seeds
to a thousand winds
hearing echoes
in nature's cellophane for all to see
butterflies paying homily...
"Do you wanna dance and hold my hand?"

Casting Lots

I observed as Autumn and Summer
faced off at the brink of each other--

"I shall win, this time"
Autumn declared, and the sun dimmed, just a little.

"Take your Pyrrhic victory," and Summer handed over its leaves
bowing out, but not without a plan to return.

Air, a little colder, leaves, a little golder
became windblown, tumbling away
but not before I threw in all of my pasts to join them
then turned away, feeling new.

Whispering pine

Whispering pine
Fleeting into essence
with dark aromatics
piercing the sapience of the azure
Gaining wisdom in the verve
secured during its tenure
Collection of souls linger upon the branches
Observing from its emerald palm
A windblown stargaze swaying from idle to sin
If only we rest there a second

M'lady Moon

wings glisten upon a breeze
gentle murmurs as feathers fan
soft calls in low-throated hum
windblown whispers between ancient trees
their creak & moan stirs the blood
as breath held in anticipation is released
darkness shimmers beneath her glow
& night swoons
pulse racing at her silver lacing
M'lady Moon comes

fast and furious

caught up in the highs and lows of it
she departed the arid deserts of her birth
on an ocean journey with no particular destination
hoping for some island hopping for what it’s worth

toured the Caribbean at a pretty good clip
approaching each island the weather turned foul
tourists feared her like windblown rain and waves
anger rapped tighter around her until it growled

the papers spotted her around Jamaica for a day
then noted she died in the mountains down Mexico way

Winds of Love

Your dreamy eyes
staring at me
had me forever
windblown
and totally into you
from the get go

atmospheric inhales

Lightning cracks
rain sprinkles down
cool and gentle
the atmosphere trembles
in anticipation

I want to feel
the windblown bent
of the trees like I'm one of them
at the mercy of the elements
trying to sweep me off my feet
